For a second I read that as: "after wrestling 2 Olympic champion sisters". What?!? Why?!?

on the 11th Asanoyama surprised that Hakuho left, who one time had named him as his successor o o Oho was 11-0 with Mudoho and others o o Mudoho did 13 bouts o on the 10th Oshoma was 9-1 with Oshoumi and others o o Nakamura-beya on the 6th Miyanokaze started a new type of training: start at the edge o main training at the heya: butsukari o Kayo did only the basics o

I signed in just to like your comment. The person that replied negatively in this thread has always felt that way about Hakuho the rikishi and that did not change when he became Miyagino. I guess ex-Kisenosato is a “great oyakata” now that he recruited Onosato. I am certain that Onosato would have been a huge failure if he had decided to go to another heya. Yes, that is sarcasm. As Kintamayama stated, he should have taken the hint that he was not welcome in the oyakata realm when he was denied ichidai toshiyori (“It was no longer needed”) and he also had to sign the “be a good boy” agreement. My hope is that Hakuho can promote amateur sumo around the world and introduce more young people to sumo. That would be a good thing, in my opinion. I will be signing back out now. Cheers to the GOAT = Hakuho

Here is the Kekka format, which will be used for making the 2025 Nagoya Banzuke. Here are the Kekka points (calculated by using the simple equation "Points*7.5/ Median"). Extra points were used for Banzuke purposes only (better differentiation). 2025 Natsu Basho - Kekka format for Banzuke purposes: Gamer Kekka pts Bunbukuchagama 15 Wakatake 13 Philioyamfuji 12 Achiyama 11 Jakusotsu 11 Chishafuwaku 11 Jejima 10 Ippikiokami 10 Sumo Spiffy 10 Katunazuma 10 Holleshoryu 9 Papayasu 9 Kimyama 8 Oshirokita 8 Flohru 8 Joaoiyama 8 Pitinosato 7 Andreas21 7 RaeucherLax 6 Ziggyama 6 Athenayama 6 Benihana 6 ScreechingOwl 5 Akogyokuseki 4 Fashiriteta 4 Gaijingai 4 Wamahada 4 Shimodahito 2 Shinigami 0 Masutarida 0

I have taken this seriously - and have now selected my squad and round 1 line-up. It took me over an hour to do!

Sumo wrestlers meet gunslingers! And actually a true story!

That was the requirement for getting a citizens honour award. Simply making yokozuna is not enough, anyone can do that...

This year Nishiiwa-oyakata gets the Eiraku club award o Mainly for creating the Wakanosato cup, to help keeping alive the 142 year streak of makuuchi rikishi from Aomori - will Hakuho get it some day? I don't think so, already his wife got it

That was also how I read it. That he had to show his mettle by taking on those two sisters.

    Tameikis Ranking after Natsu Basho 2025 Hello dear 21 gamers! As every time before I added to the ranking dates of Haru Basho 25 the Natsu 25 results and subtracted the results of Natsu Basho 24. Unlike after the Haru Basho, I also included the three players who only participated in four bashos. Of these, player E9 did a great jump up the rankings. But at the top of the ranking, of course, is Yusho winner Susanoo, who was already at the top of the ranking after Haru Basho. Congratulations, Susanoo! This is the result: Nr Name Points TB1 Score Average Av.TB 1 Susanoo 70 997 6 11,67 166,17 2 Hisui 66 972 6 11,00 162,00 3 Flohru 55 793 5 11,00 158,60 4 E9 43 604 4 10,75 151,00 5 Asapedroryu 53 745 5 10,60 149,00 6 Bunbukuchagama 61 838 6 10,17 139,67 7 Andreas21 60 838 6 10,00 139,67 8 Papayasu 50 672 5 10,00 134,40 9 WAKATAKE 48 668 5 9,60 133,60 10 shimodahito 56 761 6 9,33 126,83 11 Gusoyama 54 739 6 9,00 123,17 12 Shatsume 44 572 5 8,80 114,40 13 Ippikiōkami 35 414 4 8,75 103,50 14 Wamahada 52 738 6 8,67 123,00 15 Karasukurai 52 716 6 8,67 119,33 16 Fashiriteta 52 705 6 8,67 117,50 17 Eatplaylovesumo 52 693 6 8,67 115,50 18 Fujisan 43 543 5 8,60 108,60 19 Asset 43 534 5 8,60 106,80 20 Yarimotsu 51 827 6 8,50 137,83 21 Benihana 51 682 6 8,50 113,67 22 Athenayama 51 595 6 8,50 99,17 23 Tochinofuji 50 626 6 8,33 104,33 24 Rokudenashi 33 432 4 8,25 108,00 25 Profomisakari 48 682 6 8,00 113,67 26 ChickyStarr 48 618 6 8,00 103,00 27 RaeucherLax 46 543 6 7,67 90,50 28 Fia 45 557 6 7,50 92,83 29 Hakuryuho 43 480 6 7,17 80,00 30 chishafuwaku 34 390 5 6,80 78,00 31 Hakuhonofan 33 464 5 6,60 92,80 For the completeness, here is the list of players who participated in 1, 2 or 3 of the last 6 Bashos: 32 Hidenotora 21 254 3 7,00 84,67 33 Mizuma 16 218 3 5,33 72,67 34 Takanorappa 14 165 2 7,00 82,50 35 Kotowazasato 12 222 2 6,00 111,00 36 Reonito 15 164 1 15,00 164,00 37 Furansumo 10 145 1 10,00 145,00 38 Kimyama 9 184 1 9,00 184,00 39 Polarkatsu 8 132 1 8,00 132,00 40 Jimizakura 7 111 1 7,00 111,00 41 Jogn 6 87 1 6,00 87,00 Profomisakari

It was Takakeisho, but I couldn't tell you what year, much less basho. I just remember Hakuho standing there like it was butsukari.

No offense intended, but I think this belongs in the thread I did not create for the plethora of Hakuho detractors. Besides, you know so much more about sumo history and workings than I, that even if I'm right, I'd never match up in an argument with you on any sumo topic. My take is solely based on the performance of Enho and Ishiura, and on my own observations over a single morning in January 2020. Feel free to start a Hakuho/Miyagino good-bye and good riddance thread, though, if you like.

Now presenting... another unsolicited attempt at a GTB meta-banzuke, complete with most if not all the things you hate about real banzukes! This would be Natsu 2025 (so not taking into account the most recent basho). I have all new players starting with a TD equivalent to the last spot on the banzuke. Never had any issue with that before, but needless to say with 100+ new players, the bottom got a little crowded. Also this fashionable meta-banzuke is presented with abhorrently unfashionable double spacing because I can't get the forum to cooperate.

So, the third basho of 2025 - Natsu Basho is in the books. I can formally announce the TUG Winners: Bunbukuchagama won the Yusho with 132 points. Congratulations! Wakatake won Jun-Yusho with 120 points. Congratulations! Philioyamfuji made the podium with 114 points. Congratulations! I want to thank all supporters and fans of TUG, who participated during 2025 Natsu Basho. Hope to see Shinigami and Masutarida participate during the next Nagoya Basho! Also, I hope to se more New Gamers during 2025 Nagoya Basho in July! Newcomers will be very, very welcome as always! Keep recruiting NEW TUG Gamers!!! Achiyama TUG Rijicho

Actually the rikishi Takakeisho was a complex robot operated by the smaller Takakeisho from the inside.

Tamawashi would be cool, since he is kind of a symbol for longevity.

So now who will be his dohyo-iri attendants? I'm guessing Takayasu is candidate number one, and other eligible candidates in makuuchi from the ichimon include: - Tamawashi - Oshoma - Onokatsu - Oho - Kotoshoho - Abi - Takanosho If I had to stake out a possible second candidate, I would assume either Abi or Tamawashi
