Bizarre! 3

I think some serious reform needs to be done, in respect to allowing Rikishi adequate time to heal bad injuries. Kyokutaisei's injuries were listed as Meniscus damage to both knees, this can lead to arthritis if not rested appropriately at the time of the injury occuring and whilst healing. I think the website i was reading on stated something like a months rest, which isn't going to be easy for him to get. I know being a Rikishi means you have to 'tough it out', but seriously, when will someone cut these lads some slack....

Eikokurai 3,437 Posted September 18, 2018 I’ve not paid Kakuryu all that much attention so far this basho as he’s been boringly on form, but I was very impressed with him today. He had no right to take Mitakeumi all the way back across the ring but he did it to him anyway made it look effortless. Remarkable strength and control. Mita had no defence.
Kintamayama 47,194 Posted September 18, 2018 Kisenosato and Endou were called to the Principal's office today and received an oral warning about their bad tachiais. The gyoji kept warning Endou, but Fujishima Deputy Director of Judging said they were both to blame.

Amamaniac 2,091 Posted September 18, 2018 Two straight days without any monoii called in the Top Division! Yesterday, the close decision between Kagayaki and Chiyonokuni was not reviewed. Today, I would say that the Shodai vs. Chiyotairyu bout deserved a review (probably the right call since Chiyo's feet left the dohyo before Shodai's leg dropped in), and the Onosho vs. Myogiryo bout should have been reviewed. In the latter case, to my mind, there was hair grabbing by Onosho visible in the slow-motion replay. Not surprising that the judges missed that since it took place lower down near the back of Myogiryo's neck. That's what we get when there were four monoii on Day 3. Sigh. Not sure if it is all the pressure, but Kisenosato has been making multiple false starts (matta) this tournament. He did it on Days 3 and 8, and there were three mattas today (Tamajiro took issue with Endo not dropping his left hand at the tachiai, so in the end, Endo put both hands down straight away). It is my impression that Yokozunas are expected never to matta. Clearly, Kisenosato mattas/matters! Edited September 18, 2018 by Amamaniac

Ichinojo is the best young mongolian talent now that Terunofuji is out of the picture, I think Hakuhou always tries make a point to teach him not to give up easily and literally "push" him to do more. Ichinojo not improving like he should must be frustrating him. Hakuhou is still dominant but he knows he is nearing to the end of his career, he's going to be around until the olympics if he can, but is going to miss a few bashos every year, Kakuryu has never been this good at age 33 is going to dominate for a bit I think but is not going to last forever either. Ichinojo is the best guy from Mongolia after they are gone ( Chiyoshoma is not as good, Daishoho and Mitoryu are promising but I don't know if they'll ever be even Ozeki, Asashoryu's nephew seems pretty good but it's too early to tell just how much). Still there's the word dame which basicallly means "not good' in dame oshi so whatever the reason it's not something he should do.
