After 12 years of marriage, for the event of his first makuuchi kachikoshi, Azumaryu (35) and his wife バトジャルガル・ナランフー (36) - maybe Batjargal (maiden name) Naranhuu - had a weeding reception ceremony today at a hotel in Tokyo with about 350 guests, among them Miyagino, Oshima, Terunofuji, Hoshoryu, Kiribayama and about 50 friends and relatives from Mongolia.

Both born in 1987, they met in Japan and had registered the marriage in Ulaanbaatar in August 2011, have a son (5th year) and 2 daughters (3rd year and kindergarten) - all set for his last bout and a letter afterwards in a few years

Nishikifuji (26) had his marriage ceremony with former company employee Shizuka Fujizoe (24) from Ishikawa pref. today at the yokozuna &more sumo stone shrine Tomioka Hachimangu, where also the shisho and Terunofuji had theirs. They'll register the marriage tomorrow and the first child is due in October. He met her in October 2021 at a party for Terunofuji, fell in love at first sight and for  Christmas he proposed a relation, a year later, this January, the marriage proposal.

She quit the job in January and a month ago Nishikifuji left the heya and they started their life together. A ceremony just before the basho is a rare event, the bridegroom: "There's also pressure, I may get a variety of comments, but I'll do my best sumo, bout for bout."

Yeah, Kotoshoho today announced his engagement to a girl the same age (23) from Fukuoka, he proposed to her after the basho, already both families have met. The 2 met 2 years ago, have a relationship for a year, but don't yet live together: that is planned for August in a new home.

I think we haven't mentioned it yet on the forum: Kiribayama (now Kirishima) after his yusho had announced that he is married since after juryo promotion and also has a daughter, born Feb. 2020, after makuuchi promotion. He first met the girl of his dreams in person when he returned to Mongolia 4 years ago after juryo promotion, a friend had introduced them and till then he had only talked to her on the phone - after that the 2 married right away. http://www.chunichi.co.jp/article/660890

Today after keiko Kotoshoho announced that the marriage was registered on June 9th, his wife Juna handed in the form at the Kashiwa city hall. In November the first son is expected to be born. o

:squints at timeline: Does this sound like a shotgun to you, or is the engagement/registration that much of a formality that it doesn't really matter?
