Obviously the Torikumi maker thought, Trender (aka Derosa) would win against me. In that case the final Bout between Yumezukuri and Trender would have been perfect but I was following my own script Nevertheless, my 9th Jun-Yusho is in the bag unless Senshuraku offers me the sweetness of a Yusho. TB currently is in my favour (98 vs. 95). I have a slightly better chance for the Yusho in S4 as I'm the sole leader at 12-2 but at least two of the 4 chasing guys at 11-3 will easily beat me in a TB. So I need to eke out another lucky win on Senshuraku. Difficult, when your remaining Rikishi are rather underdogs in tomorrows Bouts. Let's see what the Day brings. Ganzohnesushi No, I know the lad who runs the game and he has rules about who he puts yusho contenders from Maegashira up against. He chose Trender for the simple reason that he is ranked higher than you. I really don't know why he doesn't wait for the day-14 results though...that would make more sense to me. Anyway, I hope you go on and win it. You have a very good score and so deserve the yusho.

However, Trender is a hard nut for Yumezukuri and I'm confident he will do his best. What will be really annoying is if I lose vs. Andoreasu with a score that would have beaten Yumezukuri. I know my usual luck in these situations... But all I can think of is winning! Ganzohnesushi
ScreechingOwl 343 Posted July 20, 2019 In Bench you'd get the two leaders matched up on senshuraku (if they hadn't met previously), but in SG that rarely happens. At least Trender is a beast at that game, so anything can happen today. Good luck, Ganzo.
Ganzohnesushi 528 Posted July 21, 2019 Already won my Bout vs. Andoreasu. Trender needs Mitakeumi and Kakuryu to beat Yumezukuri.... a nailbiter Ganzohnesushi
Ganzohnesushi 528 Posted July 21, 2019 Yesssssssssssssssss! After Endo's win for Yumezukuri I needed wins from Asanoyama, Meisei, Mitakeumi and Kakuryu for my own and Trender's win. Brilliant. TB is 105 - 103 in my favour. No 9th Jun-Yusho. Its Yusho Ganzohnesushi

Pandaazuma 1,310 Posted July 21, 2019 Good stuff, Ganzo. You can't beat a comeback yusho! I had a poor final day with some very bad luck all around and missed my target of 250 Masters points. It was fully deserved really as I was abysmal for most of the basho, albeit under unpredictable conditions. So, all told, I'm happy with my 27 points or so. Typical of Fujesus to meet me on a day when it was impossible for my team to beat his even with a GBL. And SG was the usual Yamashiro comeback special, although I didn't pick all that well anyway. About the only highlight was my worst game - ISP. Oracle was extremely annoying, missing out on serious points by one point. But at least I'll be back at Yokozuna East next time. Choshu-Yuki is on the brink of demotion there now. Getting a bit crowded at the top anyway.
Rocks 1,809 Posted July 21, 2019 (edited) Terrible basho for me too, mostly due to a awful lineups pre-basho. MK debut as Ozeki in Oracle. MK in SG despite scoring the same number of points as the yusho winner and beating all 3 Juryo I faced. Argggh! I got just under 10 points I think. Would have had a few more in Odd if Hokutofuji had won. KKs in TTT, ISP, Juryo Game, DST and Toto along with a Top 10 in Quad. Meh. Pandaazuma 1,310 Posted July 21, 2019 Congrats to Ganzo on a very exciting turnaround yusho. He'll be getting a nice boost up the banzuke for that and, as the top scorer in the division, will get a nice gino-sho too. Maybe even a kanto-sho. Owl and Jan finished on songs for DD. Chanko and Scott sadly went MK but Gary got his deserved winning record. Misery for Seb, whose demotion is now confirmed, and also Stefan, who should stay in the division but will be wondering why he has lost six tie-breaks out of six. Wow! Good news all round in Juryo as everyone finished KK. Unko got a jun yusho but the eleven wins won't be sending him up to Makuuchi. In Makushita everything was fine too, and Dustin finally came through with his eighth. Not much to report on the promotions/demotions front. Rupe and Chanko are down from sanyaku. Owl should be back at komusubi. And Seb, as we know, is back in Juryo. A decent basho overall by the Centipedes. Final Standings: Rank Record Points AADs Opp AADs 10 8+ 5- TB TB+ Who? Ganzohnesushi 528 Posted July 21, 2019 This is really ironical. Won my SG Bout vs. Andoreasu 7-6, but would have lost vs. Yumezukuri 7-8... Usually stuff like this doesn't turn out to be in my favour. That's really a nice compensation for all the bad luck I had over the years in this game. However, as I have gained the most points among all players I feel this is somehow deserved. It doesn't happen too often, that the player with the most points grabs the Yusho. And the icing on the cake is that totally unexpected Yusho in S4. After exactly 10 years my 2nd Yusho in this great game. Funny enough - my Seki-Toto score is 5-10 though only 9 players have collected more points... So its a Yusho in the two games I like most among them all. In addition I collected a friction of points in GTB, CG and TTT --> 32,31 in total. Ganzohnesushi

Haidouzo 78 Posted July 21, 2019 In the dailies, it's pretty much 7-8 everywhere but DST (6-9), TTT (8-7), Quad (9-6--one short of points), a clear KK in Odd, and the inevitable senshuraku collapse in Toto for a large 7.5-point jun-yusho split. Thankfully, some pleasant surprises in the pre-bashos. 7th in Hoshitori for 4 points. Tied for 8th in NC for 2.5 points. 3rd place in Salarycap after day 14 but hellifino where I'll land. 3rd would be a lovely 10 points. So, a definite 14 points, and perhaps 10 more, which would make (I think) a fairly good basho for me. GANBARIMASU
Domichi 13 Posted July 21, 2019 Got my 8th win in SG, don't think it was deserved but I'm not going to complain about it. I'll certainly have to work on this game as my luck will run out soon. Congrats Ganzohnesushi on the superb performance! Pre Basho: GTB: 7-8 (Good for me, I was 4-11 last basho) Fantasy: 166/169 (Again, better than my 190/191 last basho ) Roto: 74/79 (New game for Nagoya)
Ganzohnesushi 528 Posted July 21, 2019 Hi Simon small correction on your Sumo game comment: " It was heartbreak for Yumezukuri, who has played Sumo Game since 2001 and has never won a yusho in any division." This statement is not true as Yumezukuri has won Juryo Yusho in Natsu'14... Ganzohnesushi

Pandaazuma 1,310 Posted August 27, 2019 (edited) Panda remains safely at Yokozuna and is not even soft kadoban. Now the second longest-serving Yokozuna (Kirinoumi has two more basho but I am guaranteed at least three more) but there is still quite some time before he passes Doitsuyama. Owl returns to komusubi. Miyako and Rupe are back in the jo'i. Ganzo gets a nice jump and is just outside the zone in which you meet sanyaku, which is extremely strong this time. Stefan survived by the skin of his teeth and it will be 8 wins or bust this time for him. Seb is down to Juryo but is well within reach of re-promotion. Mark gets a half-rank demotion despite getting 8 wins, which is pretty harsh. Steve continues his inexorable rise to the second division. 11 wins this time should put him over the line. And I have added Gansekiiwa as promised. He often contributes to this thread and is the ballsy type of player that fits the Centipedal requirements. Pandaazuma 1,310 Posted August 27, 2019 Panda goals this basho are obviously Green Mawashi, as I want to sweep all the 2019 Tokyo tournaments, as well as a yusho or two. I am off to a good start with a jun yusho in Guess the Banzuke so need to build on that. Will aim also to remove any kadoban tags I have (I think I have one or two). Obviously I will also be ensuring that the Baka Cup stays safely stinking out Scott's basement. I am also hoping for an all-time record score on the Superbanzuke ranking when Rando brings that out. I will need some help from my Centipedal comrades from day 12 onwards: I will be unable to update this thread for the last four days as I have to go away somewhere. Would appreciate it if someone could update these stats for me in my absence. GAMBARIMASU!
