So far, so good. The only utter disaster is Roto, where I have Goeido and Tomokaze.  Annoying to be out of a game due to random chance, but I guess that is part of the charm of the SB...the element of luck is significant, but not crippling overall. Everything else looks fairly good. Managed to avoid most of the turkeys and have picked mostly decent lads.

Early doors. So...GAMBARIMASU!

Of course you could.

Well, I could have started better, but not by much. Can not believe I am out of Chain. How the heck does Tomokaze lose to Kotoyuki of all people?  I should have stuck with a Juryo pick. I'm kicking ass in Juryo with 20 out of 28 right so far. Hopefully it keeps up.

That's the fifth lowest-scoring day of all time despite the fact that almost everyone got a fusen win. (And although Goeido's kyujo wasn't announced before night in Europe, anyone who watched day 1 was aware he wasn't going to be able to wrestle.) If you subtract the automatic win, it's almost assuredly the worst prediction day ever, caused in part by losses by the top five ranked rikishi on the banzuke.

Yes I should have mentioned it. Was in a bit of a rush as usual. :(

Frustrating day for the Panda. Picked very well but lost SG and Bench to Gary in bouts that were impossible to win. I am probably the scoring leader in SG but am 1-2. Highly irritating. Pre-basho didn't go great either, but I'm still in strong positions in multiple games. Won the other important dailies at least. And 1-2 in the Baka Cup is annoying too.

Bad luck today for Panda and Ganzo, both running into one of three 10s. Scott, Rupe, Unko and Steve are all unbeaten. Well done to Gary on our only ten so far.

7-man GBL in Bench for my second perfect day, and 2-1.  Wins all around, except for ISP and Odd.  Good times.

Am I the only one who gets the creeps when half of their DST picks are also in their SG lineup?

It's a little weird. Yeah, there is occasionally a match picked in DST that I wonder "What were they thinking?" but generally they are matches I don't even want to pick, let alone put in my lineup. But I usually do my SG lineup last and sometimes in analyzing a DST match I convince myself it's much more cut and dry than it is.

Not a bad night but could have been better. Bummed about loss in Quad as Mitakeumi cost me it and I was sure he'd win. Not happy with another loss in Toto either. After doing terrible in Juryo Day 3, I went 10-4 last night and still manged a loss. Disappointing. Very glad to be 3-1 in both Bench and SG.

Also, I wasn't going to post but someone had to stop @Haidouzo

These withdrawals are becoming a major problem for my teams and have already killed me in Roto (3 gone) and Salarycap (2 gone). I have no ozeki or sekiwake in Bench (which this basho is probably advantage - I actually won today because of this) and I predicted high records for all the lads who have pulled out except the average 7-8 for Tomokaze. I really have no idea why I am in the top three in Hoshitori with 3 lads out, including the 10-slot), (and Onosho my sub for 3 points). Insane stuff. On top of that, my luck in SG has been beyond belief (and awful in Bench too until today) so I was very relieved to take wins there. Toto remains the best performance. I just need to keep it going.

3-2 in the Baka Cup. Is that right, Scott? ;)

Another day of carnage and large luck factor. As just noted above, Ganzo fell victim to the random loss generator, which I have only seen very few times. Especially unfortunate as he was above average AND has had relatively high-scoring opponents. Not pleasant at all. I'd much prefer a Doitsuyama rule, to be honest. Might mention it to the lad who runs the game, not that he will change anything. ;)

Panda got a much-needed win for damage control and is still the unluckiest player in all three divisions, which is not cheering me up. And I needed an unorthodox pick (of Meisei) to carry me over the line as well. Very tough basho...will be happy with 8 this time. Owl overcame Scott in a limp contest. Gary spawned his way to another win. Jan won easily to make things look a bit rosier. Stefan is streaking again after that awful start. Rupert henka'd his way to 4-1. And Unko is scoring well and deserves his four wins.

Juryo is looking good with everyone in positive territory, as is Makushita (especially Steve, our only perfect lad left). Domichi is having a hard time though and he has his work cut out now.

Up to a pair of nightmare days.  If I hadn't gamed my way into a win in Quad, it would have been a clean sweep of losses for day 5.  ISP and DST are hilariously awful.  Going to take a few days to turn most of the others around.

These low-scoring days are murder on the Machine.

Day 5 Update: It's not great edition

Bench 1-4 (Goeido and Kakuryu hurt me here)
SG 1-4 (Every Basho I get worse and worse (Hitthewall...))

ISP 4-1(Basho is not a total failure so far)

Chain, out on day 1

Roto 80/81

A horror day but I still managed to win everything except ISP and the H2Hs (which were both unwinnable. My bench team would have lost even with a GBL and Susa picked insanely in SG as usual and they mostly came off). Unluckiest basho of all time in SG so far. The best result was a nice Odd bet that takes me third, offsetting the Masters losses of an awful day in Juryo Game. Toto 6-0 is also amazing. I should have lost today but picking Tama and Myo saved my bacon.

4-2 in the Baka Cup. And this horrific basho will have to be tamed with unorthodox tactics from now on, I suspect.

I lost in every single game, except Odd--in which I didn't make a bet, after the Machine saw not a single rikishi worth betting on.

Stop that whining, you are the Yokozuna! You can expect the respect of your daily aites when they do their best and score well against you. Btw, I guess my daily aites scored as high as yours. So you‘re not alone...

LOL! I am usually misunderstood, and this is no exception!! I am not whining at all...I love it. My favourite thing is to fight back from being screwed over!! The 'unluckiest' comment was a reference to Rando's Bench stats, meaning I have never been the points leader at 2-4 as I recall.

I intend to reverse this trend starting tomorrow! ;)
