LOL! I am usually misunderstood, and this is no exception!! I am not whining at all...I love it. My favourite thing is to fight back from being screwed over!! The 'unluckiest' comment was a reference to Rando's Bench stats, meaning I have never been the points leader at 2-4 as I recall.

I intend to reverse this trend starting tomorrow! ;)

I got your point, don‘t worry. But for a moment you reminded me of that former Weini Vikanohara.

LOL! Possibly my worse ever defeat in SG thanks to my decision to just pick unorthodoxly for a laugh, given that whoever I pick normally turns into an utter fool for the day. The latter reality occurred once again as all my lads just got henka'd or fell over when they were winning etc. Pure comedy. This basho is a total write-off in the H2H games. Bench was another loss where even a GBL wouldn't have saved me. Second straight day of that. My team is bobbins so there is no way I will KK there either. My system isn't really very good at these kinds of days, sadly. Hopefully things will improve tomorrow. First loss in Toto was sad and I lost everything else too except for ISP, where I picked up a valuable win. At least Juryo Game recovered a bit but as things stand, my target of 400 could now be in jeopardy.

4-3 in the Baka Cup. Not surprising when I scored only 2! ;)

A nicely redemptive day 7, led by the Machine's insistence on Takayasu as the fourth best pick of the day, and marred more or less only by a 4-man GBL in bench losing in tiebreak to what would have been another 4-man GBL had it not been for a fifth winner on my opponent's bench.  2-5 is a hard loss in Bench.

Highlight of a win in Odd catapulting me to 4th.  (And what must be the most extreme bout win in Baka Cup history--8-2!?)

Unko flies the Centipedal flag. Owl and Rupert are up there in the hunt as well. Chisha and Eric are going well in Juryo, Steve and Rocks in Makushita.

Indeed! Tired of getting stuffed whoever I pick, I just went full reckless for a laugh but it BAKA-fired big time. I had seven different to my opponent today, probably a record for me, and ALL SEVEN lost. That may well be an all-time SG record but there is no way to check it. I was having a right laugh watching my idiots fall over for no reason etc. ;)

Back to basics tomorrow, though. Need to try and win out. Won't be easy in this lottery basho.

More horror on the dohyo. Supremely awful basho, and not only game-wise. Terrible sumo quality, henkas everywhere, injuries everywhere, gyaku bouts, lads falling over for no reason, overzealous gyoji, and general nastiness every day from the arrogant, 'classy' Hakuho. It's the worst basho I remember, and I remember a lot of them. It's the first time ever that I feel like turning the TV off and doing something else.

Back to the games...I lost every single one of them, which is hardly surprising. Not really sure how to proceed for week 2, as my system clearly doesn't work in this kind of shitshow. I may just gave to go back to good old picking from gut instinct. Or, even better, I might just pick the opponents of the lads that my system predicts to win apart from against the three or four lads who actually look OK.

It will be hit and hope in week two, basically. I won't get the green mawashi now, I suspect, although it's not definitely gone. My pre-basho games are slowly bleeding and the dailies will be dead too shortly unless I get lucky.

A good night but Shodai cost me big tonight. 3 points on Bingo and a win in Quad. Thank God I'm doing well in Bench and SG. Although with it looking like few if any spots will open up in Juryo and 3 guys above me doing well it's looking like I'll practically have to win the Yusho to get a Juryo spot in SG. I'm pissed I lost big bets 2 days in a row in ODD by 1 pick too. Both times it was by the guy I thought had the best chance to win among my picks. Arrrgggh.

What a mess! Another low-scoring day overall but some of us did OK. Plenty will be blessing or cursing Takayasu as well.

Unko lost today but he's still only one off the pace. Similar story for  Seb in Juryo. And a similar story for Rocks and Steve in Makushita.

The Centipedes are going well with everyone in positive territory except for the four bad luck victims, Chanko, Ganzo, Panda and Domichi.

Despite the many upsets, surprises and kyujos I'm doing surprisingly well in a couple of games. But of course there is also the usual bad luck, e.g. Sumo Game where my picking is not that bad but I'm 3-5. In detail:

SG 3-5 - I'm still gutted by that fecking loss via random draw on Day 5.

Bench 6-2 - One of 5 co-leaders. Potential for SB Masters  points.

ISP 6-2 - Shared 3rd to 13th place. Potential for SB Masters points.

Toto 6-2 - Shared 2nd to 11th place. Potential for SB Masters points.

S4 6-2 - Two losses  in row now, but still shared 4th to 13th place. Potential for SB Masters points.

TTT 2-6 - Usually one of my better games, but not in Kyushu'19.

DST - Shared 12th to 15th place. Need to improve here to get any SB Masters points.

Odd - The usual average-ish results, currently in 14th place.

Chain - Sad loss on Day 6 but I take this 3 SB Masters points.

Oracle - Too early to speculate but as per my calculation I soon might enter the Top 10 in Rando's daily overview (e.g. Ikioi 11-4, Kaisei 10-5...) Potential for SB Masters points.

Salary - Became aware of Kakuryu's withdrawal just a few minutes before the deadline. Last minute change to Goeido was not really helping here... I assume i will end somewhere between 8-7 and 6-9.

Roto - Currently in 6th place but I have picked Tomokaze. Don#t think I will stay in the Top 10 until Senshuraku. Meh...

Hoshitori - It was just too late to change all my picks on Shonichi. Sadanoumi is doing well as Kakuryu's substitute, but I will end somewhere between 8-7 and 5-10, I assume.

UDH - Same here. I even forgot that I could have picked Kakuryu as my 6 pointer. Crap!

Juryo Game - Currently shared 3rd to 6th place. If Yago now finally starts winning I'm in an extremely good position to grab a few SB Masters points.

POG - Can't believe I'm co-leader currently... Nice surprise and potential for SB Masters points.

OBG - Currently in shared 2nd/3rd place... Another nice surprise and potential for SB Masters points.

NC - Shared 4th to 7th place after day 7. But I don't think I will stay in the Top 10 on Senshuraku as I won't get any bonus points.

GTB 8-7 - Had 3 S and 2 K in my Banzuke, thus 8-7 is fine.

Lot of opportunities to grab some SB Masters points....

A 3-man GBL for a bleed-slowing win in Bench puts me alone in the lead for oyakata prize.  5 is good enough in SG for a 5-3 record, and another win in the Baka Cup equalizes things there, if I'm not mistaken.  A nice win in Quad puts me in a tie inside the top 10.  Losses everywhere else.

Glad to see Takayasu go.  The Machine liked him a bit too much.

5-man GBL in Bench for three GBLs in a row, and a two-GBL lead for the oyakata prize.  (And a 4-5 record.)

Biggest laugh of the basho must be either my win today in ISP only bringing me to 2-7, or being almost 7 points below the median in the bottom division in DST.

3-6 in Toto and TTT.  Still fourth in Odd, at least.

5-4 in SG for a large tie for 10th, and I believe it's now 4-5 in the Baka Cup after the Panda returned to form for (at least) a day.

Busy today, but it looks like more SG comedy. Well done, Jan, today, for an excellent line-up. Even if Tsuru had won, I would have lost 9-9. It really is weird how SG streaks. When you have a bad basho, it piles on! And when you have an easy one, it piles on too!

The other games actually went ok. Apart from Bench, where I have the same comedy situation as SG.

I am now officially aiming, as an SB yokozuna duty, for the Green Mawashi!

Two-thirds of the way in and things look mostly OK. The pre-basho scene is very good, with only inury-blighted Salarycap and Rotosumo out of the picture with regard to the Masters. Juryo is the most amazing one for me, given that one of my lads has scored zero after getting injured on day one. Really hoping he turns up for a few bouts this week. The Japanese games are all looking good. UDH looks a likely yusho or jun yusho as well. Oracle looks decent too. Hoshitori will depend on a few things but small change is possible there too. The pre-basho alone could take me over the magic 400 mark.

The dailies have improved since my nightmare weekend and I am back in the running for yusho in Toto. Odd Sumo might be OK for some points but I am throwing my ante away like water. Quad and TTT look a bridge too far now. Doing surprisingly well in ISP and was amazed that Abi was the minority pick today. Tipspiel looks sexy. Bench is a nightmare as my team is carrying some very unpredictable muppets so I am just aiming for damage control there. Won today for 4-6. And Sumo Game is pure comedy at this point. I am scoring very well but just keep coming up against monster scores. Happened again today, so I am 2-8 there now, not pleasant for a Yokozuna, especially when I have not actually played badly. Indeed, I have picked better than usual and in a normal basho I'd be in the yusho race. My 6-4 lead in the Baka Cup today underlines that. Will now attempt to play spoiler for the other three top lads as they aim for various goals.

So a half decent finish in the final third could gift me my fourth Green Mawashi of the year and a nice record total in the Masters. The record before was the one I set last year (299 points) so a 400-plus total would be very nice.

Trender lost today so Unko now shares the lead in Makuuchi with four other players. Some good scoring from him. Mukade has actually been very good this basho and would be better if not for a lot of bad luck going around. Seb is one off the yusho pace in Juryo. And Rocks is up there in Makushita, especially if the leader drops a couple of bouts. Again, the lower divisions are looking pretty good for the Centipedes. Keep it up.

The basho isn't over yet technically, although as a practical matter every rikishi except Hakuho should be concentrating on their banzuke ranking next basho, special prizes, and not getting injured before the holidays.

After 10 days, I'm 9-1 and leading in two games : Toto and Quad. I think the last time that happened was, um, never. I'm also in second in Tip Spiel (which is exceptionally closely bunched). And I've positive records in several other games and chances for points in those too. Despite that, according to Randomitsuki, I'm currently only in 5th place for Kyushu, so there should be some very high scores when this basho is over. And it still isn't over, as we are only two-thirds way through and five days is often close to an eternity where sumo is concerned.
