5-way tie for the TTT yusho.  Not going to win on tiebreak (most likely), so I'll need to finish strongest.

Slipped to 4th in UDH.

No idea where Oracle is at.

The third-lowest scoring day of all time made for some rather outlandish scoring. Panda won again and is now two clear of the field in the yusho race but he faces top-class opposition from tomorrow onwards, starting with the talented and always dangerous Andonishiki. Rupert overcame the Ozeki with a daily high score of 5 to go into positive territory for the first time. A great comeback also by Chanko, who now needs only one more for KK. Scott managed a bit of damage control today. No other KKs or MKs to report. Ganzo moved a win closer. Chisha staved off MK for the second straight day. And Steve is now well and truly in the yusho hunt as the leader lost.

A strong day for the Panda despite the insanity. I was annoyed to lose Toto after a great Makuuchi performance. Juryo really is hurting me this basho. And how I lost Bench I really don't know. But everything else went fine, and the pre-basho games are looking excellent in some cases. If I can keep it together for the last four days, I have a great chance of green mawashi.

Some considerable damage control in SG, rallying to 6-8 after a painfully early MK.  With one more win, a 7-8 may mean a loss of only four or five ranks, unless that only applies to sanyaku.

MK in Bench today (6-8) after what is probably a personal record worst loss ever (3-14).

"Rallied" in DST to be TIED for last in Group 2 instead of alone there.

A great win in Quad means a tie for 10th at 7-7.  An unlikely win on day 15 will mean points, but probably best not to hope for a lot.

Blew it in TTT.  Tied for 11th.  More or less the same story as Quad, but easier to win on day 15 here.

I'll be looking forward to the latest Oracle projections.  Back-to-back J-J (or J-Y) would be something.

Panda wrapped up the Makuuchi yusho a day early. Rupe got his first ever KK in sanyaku and will be sekiwake in July. Owl's bad luck basho leaves him outside sanyaku next time. Scott is doing a fine job of damage control. Miyako lost today but a win tomorrow could take her back to komusubi. Gary, Renaud and Stefan all have 7-7 nailbiters tomorrow. Mark won again to limit the damage but he is almost certainly down to Juryo. And Seb has had some awful luck...and it struck again today.

Juryo is insane for the Centipedes. It was summed up nicely today as Chisha lost a high-level draw and Ganzo strolled to a 4-2 win. Chisha is the best of our Juryo performers and he is 4-10. The other lads are 10-4. What a nightmare game this is!

Makushita is also a division of extremes. Jezz has had an utter nightmare and is now 2-12. Steve has a chance of yusho if he wins tomorrow. Unko is back up to Juryo. Ronnie is in damage control mode.

Promotions/demotions: Owl is down from sanyaku. Rupe will be sekiwake and will be on a mini ozeki run. Miyako could be komusubi with a win. Mark is probably back in Juryo and Seb really needs to win tomorrow to make sure he is safe. Ganzo could be back in Makuuchi with Jan if he wins. Chisha will have to dig himself out of a hole and it may take six months. Unko is back in Juryo. Steve should be within striking distance next basho.

Things look pretty good despite my awful dailies performance in the last three days. A decent day tomorrow could take me over the 200 Masters mark with three basho to play. If so, I'll fancy my chances of breaking the 300 mark this year.

SG:  Finished with five wins in a row to stop the bleeding at 7-8.  As happens far too often, my one loss caused by missing a withdrawal makes the difference between KK and MK.

Bench:  I ran into so many perfect days this basho.  6-9

DST: 5-10

FS: Tied for 79th of 191.

Hoshitori: 1-14

ISP: 7-8

JG:  20th of 66

NC: 9-6

Odd:  44th of 63

Bingo and POG: 5-10

Roto:  27th of 88

Salarycap:  Unknown.   26th of 53 as of day 12.

Quad:  A last-day loss for... 7-8!  Tied for 13th.

Toto:  ...7-8

TTT:  A horrible run near the end for... 7-8.  Tied for 14th.

UDH:  13-2 pace as of day 12.  Best chance for great points here.

Oracle:  4-way tie for 8th.  1.5 points.

So... 1.5 points for sure.  Presumably more from UDH.  I suppose a long shot for more in Salarycap.

What a mess.

Too knackered for detailed comments. Congrats to Steve for winning the Makushita yusho!  Rupe should be up to sekiwake next time. Chanko looks quite likely to make a return to komusubi. Mark and even Seb could be down to Juryo. Jan is definitely back up, and Ganzo should make it too. And Unko should be back up on the elevator to Juryo.

Hmm...

Bench: 8-7. Nice comeback here and am happy with it.
Chain: Joint 2nd for 10MP
Tipspiel: Yusho. 15MP
Fantasy Sumo: Yusho 15MP
GTB: 3rd: 10MP
Hoshitori: I may make the top ten. Not sure how the rules work for substitutes (mine was Asanoyama!!)
ISP: 8-7, I think. Rubbish as usual.
Juryo Game: I can't bring myself to look but MK for sure. Utterly awful team.
Norizo Cup: 9-6. I had Kaisei and Ichinojo so was screwed...therefore I am pretty happy with this final standing.
Odd Sumo: 8th. 3MP
Bingo: Joint 2nd. 11MP
PO: 10-5.
Rotosumo: Again, was completely hamstrung by injuries. Certain MK.
Salarycap. Probably not top ten but a KK is quite likely.
Oracle: 10-5. 5.75MP
Quad: 7-8. Damn. I was doing well but finished with four losses.
Toto. 8-7. No idea why I struggled this time but it was nice to clear kadoban.
SG: Yusho. 15MP. I was lucky this basho but I finished nicely.
TTT: 8-7. 1MP
UDH: Had an awful last day so won't be in the top ten but KK should be OK.

So...84.75 Masters points plus whatever I get in Hoshitori. That takes me over 200 at the three-basho stage. Considering my main pick Kaisei was injured, this is a decent result.

I've been out of the game for about four years now, but I was a part of the STI forums back then. I came out of retirement this past base and I'd love to be a part of the ichimon again if you'll all have me.

That being said, it was a rough re-introduction to the sumo gaming for me. I only played 1 daily game, but both of my pre-basho games went horribly.

GTB: 4-11
Fantasy Sumo: 190/191 (Had the dream team of Hakuho, Takakeisho, and Ichinojo) (Thinkingindepth...)
SG: 9-6 (only 86 points, so I was very fortunate in my match-ups)

How come you got back into sumo??

Yeah will add you next time no problem. Always good when a Centipede returns to the fold. ;)

I have been casually following the sport for awhile, checking the banzuke every basho and reading articles. Figured this was a good time to get back into watching and playing the games. That way I can be around as Hakuho starts to wrap his career up and get familiar with the bunch of new and unknown (to me) guys filling up the top division. Added bonus, was watching Tochinoshin regain his Ozeki rank live. The twitch live-streams are a welcome addition to the experience.

The Nagoya rankings for Mukade Beya are out.

Yokozuna Pandaazuma is fresh off a yusho and so is not in any kind of kadoban trouble. Rupe makes his sekiwake debut but he would need 13 for a promotion to ozeki. Congrats anyway. Miyako is back at komusubi. Eric JUST survived in Makuuchi and he will share the two bottom slots with re-promoted Ganzo. Congrats! Mark went down as expected but a quick return is possible. Chisha will be hoping for better luck than last time. And Unko is back up again. Steve's yusho game him a 20-rank boost but he is not quite in striking distance of promotion yet. Ronnie is foundering in mid-table hell. And welcome back to Domichi! :)

Panda's plans for Nagoya:

Green mawashi is obviously the goal as usual but I am hoping for a strong score that will take me as close to 300 as possible with two tournaments remaining. If I manage that, I'll upgrade my target to 400 for the year. As it stands, I am now aiming for 350.

With the Chain rankings now back to counting 100% on the Superbanzuke rankings, I should have a decent chance of an all-time highest score there.

Oh, and obviously I'll be ensuring that Scott keeps the stinking Baka Cup.

I'm looking to add one additional pre-basho game to my rather limited game list this basho. With SG being my only daily. Work gets in the way of things unfortunately.

A horrible day of sumo, with many of the top-rankers looking pretty poor. That may change, of course, but it didn't help in my games. Goeido single-handedly screwed me in SG and Bench. And I was one of the many Chain casualties. Still, I managed to win Toto with a high score, and came through TTT and Quad on winnable days. 9 in Tipspiel was OK. On the pre-basho front, I picked very unorthodoxly this time as I reckon Nagoya is going to be a lottery (except for a Hak yusho). I had a decent start in Juryo and FS but things look ugly in the Japanese games already. UDH is going to be hilarious, as I put Kak at 6 as a gamble. My reasoning was UDH was a lottery this time anyway so I might as well gamble based on the injury reports. He looked OK today though so I'll be kadoban next basho for sure. Looks like I'll need a good run in the dailies this time. At least I beat Scott in the Baka Cup.
