Games Bugs

Recommended Posts

I'm encountering a problem with Jury Game that I haven't noticed before, although it may have been ongoing and I just did not notice it. The total showing on the results summary page, at least for me, don't know about everyone else does not include the current day's result. However I did not notice this on the previous three days, the total was correct after Day 3 so perhaps it is a glitch that only involves Day 4?

In any case my 4 day total should be 29: 9, 8, 8, 4 but is only showing up on the summary and on the top of the individual page as 25 even though the spreadsheet portion of the individual stats page is showing the correct total of 29. See the attachments below. I only happened to notice this because I keep a detailed hoshitori style spreadsheet of the makuuchi division of Ozumo and of my progress in my virtual games and when I entered my daily score into the JG line the total showed 29 but I remembered when I checked it online it was only 25.

If this is isolated to x number of individuals on only one day it might or might not have any significant effect on the outcome of any given divisional yusho but if it is across the board and if it occurs on more than one day it might significantly affect the those outcomes.

Note: I went back and checked several other people at random from different divisions and it appears to be doing this to everybody. Chisaiyama

Yeah, Juryo Game for some reason doesn't grab all the results correctly. It all gets worked out at the end of the basho.

The same thing happened with Tochinoshin's fusen win over Harumafuji last basho. I assume it's intentional given that they also give kinboshi and ginboshi bonuses to junior sanyaku; the bonus isn't for k/ginboshi, but for beating someone of the appropriate rank while ranked below Ozeki.

Yes, the kinboshi bonus for fusen is an intentional part of the Hoshitori game. I recall this being queried (probably on Sumo Mailing List) many years ago, and Totoro (the game's creator) confirmed it.

Just about to put my Toto and Bench lads in and the database goes down (and those two games as well, of course). Hope to God we don't all have to email our entries again! :( That's a nightmare for the gamesmasters.

I managed to grab the Bench banzuke without a problem in order to write the torikumi, but I haven't had any luck getting back in to most sumogames.de sites. One exception has been ISP, but that even ran slow. Bench now gives a runtime error, anything at the DB gives a 404 eventually.

Database and all games are up again!

Thanks for fixing it and for bringing relief for all SG addicts:-)

Not a bug but a praise: I see Doitsuyama has been busy uploading rikishi pictures to the games database. (Applauding...)

Looks like the records on the database for Tochiozan, Myogiryu, Okinoumi and Tochinoshin have not been updated...this is obvious affecting some of the games standings.

Thanks, should be corrected now.

Looks like that same bug as yesterday is showing up on the results page etc. No doubt this will have the same effect as yesterday.

I can't get today's results for Bench Sumo - I think it might be because quite a few rikishi are missing a 'hoshi' (whether black or white) in the database.

It took a very long time for the results to load for me for Bench, but they did eventually. Other sumogames.de pages seem to be working fine.

Can't open any of the sumogames.de pages. Server seems to be down. Or am I the only one?

Ganzohnesushi

Me too.

Looks like the SQL service is not running anymore. Only Doitsuyama can kick that.

What's your problem with Fujisan? ;-) The player "J" actually is Jejima, and it's not a second entry. I suppose his autocomplete failed him and corrected that (as well as your entry).

What did I do wrong? Everything seemed to be okay (as far as I recall) when I made the entry.....

You entered as a new player "J" instead of the usual "Jejima". Probably you typed J, the autocomplete opened, but you never did the complete, so the J stayed there unfinished.
