Kiribayama is at 21 wins now for an Ozeki run ending next tournament right?

Well, 11-4 at K1e in January, plus at least 11 now in March = 22+/2 basho.  A win on senshuraku would mean he'd "only" need 10 next basho to make Ozeki btn.

@Seiyashi: imagine what is going through the shimpan deliberation right now. Will they be vindictive at the torikumi deliberation for May.

There's only so vindictive you can be to a komusubi; sanyaku torikumi is relatively fixed.

This is hilarious for the GKA players who recently elected Kiribayama for the reason he was unlikely to make ōzeki.

It's harrassment what you and a few others were doing to that woman for several months. This comment on a post that obvious is not even comparable to the others just shows you are still convinced that it was correct to harrass that woman and somehow belive you are a victim...

This was not harassment but a report of the (admittedly mainly social)  media attention for a certain person, who was in the news, also in not strictly tabloid ones - that was typical Japanese sumo news

WTK's withdrawal erases the possibility of Daieisho wrapping up the yusho today.

This must be pretty bad. An injured sekiwake on 7 wins would typically find a way to limp through the last 2 days and hope that one of his opponents tripped over their own feet.

What was the shimpan’s explanation for the Ichiyamamoto-Takarafuji bout?

If Kiribayama makes Ozeki after next basho, a certain Mongolian uncle is going to be hard to handle.

Lovely to see Chiyoshoma fighting with spirit today instead of deciding "8 wins? That'll do".

Lets see if he can get double digits for the first time in maku'uchi after 30+ basho in the division.

Yesterday I ran a simulation of the last two days of the tournament, and it turned out (sorry for the pun) that for banzuke reasons an 8-7 could leave the M16-17 group stuck there. I wonder if Chiyoshoma wants to be double sure to leave that precarious M16e spot for good.

Makuuchi newcomers Hokuseiho and Kinbozan both look like they're going to be hanging around for a while.

"Hanging around" appears to be Hokuseiho's favoured battle plan.

Was wrong about Hoshoryu sneaking up from behind to win the yusho, but right about him playing spoiler to a host of contenders.
