Terunofuji, who is a top heavy drinker even for the sumo world and who didn't stop during last basho, gave a joking comment when he was in a bad physical condition last basho (then reported as vomiting and diarrhea with cause unknown): "I have to go to the convenience store and buy 'Ukon no chikara' " (a vitamin drink which claims to help against hangover).

The makers of that reacted and now sent him 1200 bottles. "Because I drink it before keiko, training is perfect. Won't there be a CM ..."

He wants to pull even one more time with rival Ichinojo, who already did a CM for Baby Star Ramen.

Because it was in the same paragraph as the word "diarrhea," for a second I thought the drink's name was "Unko no chikara," which would be an excellent name for a laxative.

I would buy this product

Ichinojo and Terunofuji were police officers for a day at the jungyo location on the 10th, Misato-city in Saitama, calling for save driving and each taking a photo on a police motorbike. Ichinojo used to ride a motor bike in Mongolia and had nice recollections.

This is probably not the best thread to put this, but I can't think of another one (and it's not worth creating a new one): The Kyokai appears to have added a new page to their website tracking upcoming sumo media appearances. I think a lot of the info that will be put on there is also going through their Twitter feed, but it'll be nice to have it listed in a more convenient form.

Terunofuji will do a CM for Nagatanien, which is a symbol for being a popular rikishi (later but better than Ichinojo with baby star ramen, replacing Endo?). He will also get a kesho-mawashi (and kensho at the basho of course).

Mongolians love love love basketball. There's regular basketball tournaments organized among the Mongolian community here in LA and they're fairly big deals.

Shaq isn't a skinny tall guy, he is pretty heavy, if he put on weight with muscle and belly he would be pretty tough if he had any aptitude for it. He is a NBA player so we know he can move.

Terunofuji throws-down some dope beats. Gagamaru rides a bicycle and does an Olympic-level dive into a swimming pool. Gagamaru has a humble apartment where he enjoys eating natto. Kyokutenho has a very fine home near the Sky Tree.

At the celebrations for 90 years of the Kinki university sumo club in Osaka, among the 700 present were former club members from the sumo kyokai.
Takarafuji, Homarefuji and their oyakata, ex-Asahifuji (I read about his involvement in an old thread - locked and thus not quotable, he's not widely known as an ex-collegiate rikishi) - and since Isegahama-beya has his Sakae, Osaka training camp starting just now, though unrelated to Kinki, Harumafuji, Terunofuji and Aminishiki showed up as well.
Other top OBs there were Takasago-oyakata (ex-Asashio) and Tokushoryu from Kise-beya.

Hakuho got a "Best proud father award in Kansai" in the culture category.
For sports he is only there for the Osaka-basho and some jungyo, the award is for fathers from Kansai origin (shusshin) - how does he fit in there?
At 15 before entering Miyagino-beya, he got his first training in the Settsu-Soko company in Daito-city, Osaka area, which has a strong corporate sumo team: Hakuho is listed on their Wikipedia page as originating from there.

The CMs are for Kanton-style fried egg and crab and another for maabou-taste harusame-noodles.

They have started on TV on the 25th. In the end he had eaten over 4 large bowls till the take was over, because he continued to eat after the "cut!" call. Afterwards he commented close to agony: "I'm full"
