Ah, so as part of the ongoing Endo hype they're going to investigate how all the Endo hype has made him popular with the casual fans whose main exposure to Ozumo is through media hype. That's going to be insightful.

For Niji users:
Today 23:15-24:15 JST TV Asahi: scoop stories by 20 top athletes, with Hakuho and Toyonoshima (Daikiho only commented) somewhere in the middle of the program.
I guess that's a repeat of Hakuho about sekitori not washing themselves in the o-furo - the tsukebito do it for them, etc.
http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/mininaru/

NHK educational news to train English conversation on the 10th, JST 6-6:20, 22-22:20 and the 12th, 5:-5:20:
New yokozuna Kakuryu - guest: Demon-kakka.
http://tv.yahoo.co.jp/program/86019071/
NHK world English news are used for that - maybe also useful to learn a bit sumo Japanese.

Nihon TV on the 14th 23:59-24:54 JST: Kanjani7/8 (boy group) reporting on different aspects of the sumo world: oyakata, gyoji, o-kami-san, rikishi-wife, NSK, foreign rikishi, etc.

On the NHK World live feed on Sunday - schedule and here another. I was delighted to find NHK World now also on the Hotbird satellite, which also carries JSTV (with the Japanese and bilingual part of NHK kokusai housou for free on the pay channel). Now I can do a timer recording on that as well. NHK World is also on Astra and surely many other satellites around the world.

JST 23:10, 5:10, 11:30, 17:30.

The program on Endo was great. Unfortunately, he speaks with too many cliches. And Hakuho does not come across as a nice person to be around.

I always thought that gym training was frowned upon by the powers in charge or my memory on Chiyinofuji is wrong? Now, almost all upper rank rikishis seem to have personal trainers and visit gyms.

Appears I just missed it as the account has been terminated. Was on this morning when I woke up but silly me thought I would watch it a little late.

Something to watch in between. Entertaining none the less. Gave me a chuckle :D

In Japanese only but still fun to watch. I love how Ichinojo is so soft spoken for such a massive young man.

Whoops! considering we haven't even made the real program yet, this is scary! The top photo is from the upcoming show, while those beneath are from the one we did a couple of months ago. Of the NHK English commentators, I am told that David Shapiro has done two, John Gunning has just appeared in his first, and my own second is upcoming. Who's next? At least I'm not getting bad vibes from the neighbors...

Hakuho recording the narration for the year-end special program “The Hakuho Japanese don't know about.” on TBS, 31st 4:30 PM He thinks his pronunciation and understanding has improved with this 3rd time he was narrator.

Sorry, but this is the only one I can find available anywhere.

The video " 日本人の知らない白鵬 " has overlapping Mongolian dub, but it has text in Japanese and you can still hear him talking in Japanese in the background.

Below is my poor attempt at summarizing. Others who can do a better job than me are welcomed for input.

It showed when he visited Taiho's grave, and flashback to the last conversation he had with Taiho (where he said he wanted to reach Taiho's record).

During vacation time in Mongolia, he and his dad were guests of honors at a Naadam festival, then it showed Hakuho's reunion with former classmates, and the time when he got beaten by Mongolian wrestlers when he tried wrestling them.

When Ryuo retired, Hakuho was devastated because he basically started almost at the same time as Ryuo. At Ryuo's dampatsu-shiki, Hakuho was seen rather emotional after he took his turn snipping.

After he won his 27th Emperor Cup, he went for MRI because of back pain. Not exactly sure what the result was, but there's a gap in the lower back's spine. This triggered his desire to practice Futabayama's "go no sen". He then met a 69 yr old judo-ka legend, a 1964 Olympic gold medalist Isao Okano to learn and practice some techniques that the yokozuna thought was similar to "go no sen".

He also visited Oita, to the house where Futabayama was born.

Then the memorable broken winning run. When Kisenosato stopped his winning record at 62, the audiences shouted "Banzai!Banzai!Banzai!" (maybe because they were relieved that Futabayama's record wasn't broken by a foreigner?), and Hakuho revealed what he felt at the time.

I've never seen 'Hakuho' written in Mongolian. I see they gutturalize both 'h's.
