Bench Euro 2012

Recommended Posts

anyway, my line-up for round 2 will be send shortly after round 1 ends.

I also want to wait to see the form of the Group D teams before sending in my round 2 line-up.... But as the time zone is not good for me (I'll be fast asleep when the Ukraine vs Sweden match takes place.... I am trying to decide how/if to watch the earlier match, as tomorrow is a work day), I'll send my line-up before I go to work (hopefully), about 3 hours after the Ukr vs Swe match ends.....

Portugal was clearly the better team and no wonder we played that bad with 7 (seven!) FC Bauern players to start...

Your bitterness is leaking over again. :-P

Germany had more goal scoring chances then Portugal aswell as decent controll over the match as a whole in my eyes atleast.

Portugal did preform better then I myself had thought tho and there organisation was impressive.

You must have seen another match... Portugal was the better team only after they were 0-1 down and were forced to take initiative. Playing good football for just 18 minutes is not enough to deserve a win. Perhaps you are watching 2nd league matches for too long....

Your glorious TSV 1860 was German champion in 1966 and the clear No. 1 in town. Since then too many bunglers and dilletantes have run down this club. But this is not the fault of Bayern, so all your bitterness is misplaced here... Perhaps you are just too young to follow and understand as Bayern had overtaken 1860 already when you were born....

Hoho...Ganzo can never see anything wrong with Germany!

He should have a good laugh tonight watching England, then. I have no idea what to expect, but I think that now the general expectation is off their shoulders, they might play OK. France are a form side so it should be interesting anyway.

And even that was more due to circumstance than performance. ;-) Imagine if Bayern had been made a Bundesliga founding member three years before instead of 1860...

"

The best laugh I had already today when I saw this in the UK Guardian forum :

"I find myself in the unfortunate position of being really important to the England team. With the exception of the '66 final, when I was too young to have any expectation, I have always longed for them to win. This undue pressure has obviously been too much for them, I apologise, but I have at last learnt my lesson. This time round I would like to see a gentle drift in the right direction, a tiny improvement on the last World Cup performance. I therefore undertake not to shout, swear or have any form of tantrum. Should our beloved goalkeeper for example, gather the ball safely in his hands and then inexplicably hurl it into the back of his own net, I will not under any circumstances throw furniture at the television screen and if by chance I do, I will make sure my wife is not sitting on it this time. I have every hope that my new, calm, measured outlook will result in a new freedom of expression for the entire team. There, I've done my bit."

Brilliant. Somehow the British humour is outstanding...

another update for group c before the first round's last day's matches:

As seen in Achiyama's spreadsheet (and no, i don't mind at all, it's nice to be able to check my work) Kintamayama has already defeated Rubensan by at least three goals. Kintamayama could get one more before he's done, but this one is well over. the other match is still just as up in the air as it's been since the start of the Poland-Greece. France in the top slot is going to decide the entire match. if they lose, Doitsuyama takes it in a 1-0 decision, but any other result, and things will go very much Asashosakari's way. i guess all eyes are going to be on England-France in about 3 hours. (i'll try to update during the game, if i get to watch any.)

meanwhile, i've already gotten my round 2 lineup from Kintamayama, and the others would be appreciated as early as folks can get them to me. (i'll go work on mine for Kameumi now)

I'm aware of these facts but I did not want to bring this up here... There were a few inapprehensible decisions made by some DFB bastards and biggest victims were the teams from Alemannia Aachen, Kickers Offenbach and VfL Osnabrück. Preußen Münster, TSV 1860 München and Eintracht Braunschweig should have gone to 2nd League (Regionalliga) instead.

I suggest not ;-) - we need 32 players for the World Cup, so if other people are interested in our little game this time around, that is great!

Edit: I am probably very biased.... but I am thinking that this is actually a very enjoyable game (England vs France, I mean).

I was out of the room for 20 minutes and missed both goals, heh.

Blatant yaocho. I just made a nice bundle in the pools-went with 1-1, less than three goals total and first goal England-bet equivalent of 10 Euro and won 410... The last 15 minutes of backward passing and occasional "dangerous kicks" directly at the goalies would have made Kasuganishiki proud.

BOOO!!!

hi all!

group c first match results:

Rubensan 0 - Kintamayama 3 - Kintamayama wins!

Doitsuyama 1 - Asashosakari 4 - Asashosakari wins!

(finalized quickly, and while at work. someone might want to double-check the scores, though the wins/losses are correct)

i tried briefly to make something pretty in the way of a grid, but i haven't spent as much time on the forums as i could, so it didn't go terribly well. i'll work on that for the second round. i'll do something to make it look nicer, but something that i can post.

group c, get me your lineups please! (earlier makes a happy gyoji!)

There we have it!

Round 1 is over.

Final standing Round 1 - Group B

XaioTan - Chabonowaka 0 - 3

Chabonowaka scores his only goal with his © team Spain that had an direct meeting with XaioTan's Italy in the same slot.

Edit: Also scores two with his upsetwinning ® Denmark

Pitinosato - Pandaazuma 2 - 0

Pitinosato decided things right out the gate with 1 - 0 and broken chain already after slot 1.

His chain went unbroken all the way to the last team Ireland and managed to score goal number two versus Pandaazuma in slot three were Pitinosato's ® Germany was up against Pandaazumas (n) Germany.

That gives the current standing in Group B

(Rank. Name | points | goal difference)

1. Chabonowaka | 3p | +3

2. Pitinosato | 3p | +2

3. XaioTan | 0p | -3

4. Pandaazuma | 0p | -1

PS. Dont forget to send your entries for round 2. I have already recived the entries for round 2 from Chabonowaka and Pandaazuma. Awaiting the selections from XaioTan and Pitinosato.

EDIT: Changed Xaiotan - Chabonowaka result from 0 - 1 to 0 - 3 thanks to Achiyama watchfull eyes.
