Achiyama 1,272 Posted June 13, 2012 Half of the games (four) of Round 2 are in the books, but nothing interesting to report for group "D". Tomorrow is important day, which will throw more light on the Standings.
Pandaazuma 1,310 Posted June 14, 2012 Well, I might have had a bit more luck this time. I desperately needed Portugal to win to stand any chance of winning my match, and Ronaldo was driving me insane with his poncing around. How rubbish was he in that match? Prima donna as well. Anyway, Portugal were lucky to win in the end so now it looks like I can't lose. My opponent needs Spain to win or draw (will definitely happen) and Italy to win (probable, but not certain). If Ireland win (no chance or Croatia take a point off Italy, I think I've won. Need the win...a draw probably wouldn't be enough for me to make the quarter finals. So...I'll wear red and white today, I think! Come on Croatia!

Andonishiki 171 Posted June 14, 2012 didnt see that, only heard the noise from my bed. Went to bed early to be fully fit for my crucial Spain & Italia bouts today. Forzaviva Españitalia
Kameumi 1 Posted June 14, 2012 Ronaldo was driving me insane with his poncing around. How rubbish was he in that match? Prima donna as well. Anyway, More overrated player is hard to find. He's rubbish under preasure and VERY rarley delivers under preasure or when its really needed. Also often fails to deliver versus good defenders. (Altho he obviously is exellent when theres no preasure and vs worse defenders) He's one of the most frequent flippers in the game, and boosts an negative attitude that very often seams to drag down the team as a whole. (Especially in the national team where for some unexplainable reason he is the CAPTAIN!) As you can tell - I'm unable to stay calm and neutral when viewing Christina. I'm sorry if I offeded anyone. I think I might be in for a loss this week tho if Ireland or Croatia dont deliver far above my expectations.
Asashosakari 20,297 Posted June 14, 2012 Can't say I have much hope of winning my match with Kintamayama...after today's results (especially Russia only drawing), I feel like the underdog in every single bracket. Which is exactly why you have the advantage... Well, so far so good. Looks like our matchup basically mirrors our representative clash ITA-CRO. If Italy wins you win, if the match is a draw so is ours (unless Ireland somehow beat Spain...yeah right), if Croatia wins I win. Haha, yeah figured. Nice, all you have to put down is the "value" of each individual team's preformance for every player? It's a little more complicated because each player's chain interacts with that of his opponent, so it's not possible to assign an overall value to it. I'd attach an example sheet from Round 1, but apparently the uploader is out of order...
Kameumi 1 Posted June 14, 2012 Alright. That is unfourtunate.

Achiyama 1,272 Posted June 14, 2012 (edited) Unlike the other groups, where both matches are already decided (group "B") or at least one of the matches is decided (groups "A" and "C"), in group "D" any of the matches is far from a decision. Jejima vs. Mischashimaru The score before the last 2 games is: 1:1 (Jejima scored in Slot #1, and Mischashimaru scored in Slot #2). The most important is Slot #3 - England, but for Jejima is more important as it is his ® team, and for Mischashimaru is his © team. What can happen: 1.) If England wins - Jejima scores 1 goal in Slot #3, and wins the match 2:1 at Slot #4, because Mischashimaru's chain breaks. 2.) If England draws - Mischashimaru scores a goal in Slot #3 and wins the match 2:1 as Jejima's chain breaks. 3.) If England loses - no goals are scored in Slot #3, but Mischashimaru scores 2 goals in Slot #4 and wins the match 3:1. Pretty interesting? Andonishiki vs. Rannohana The score before the last 2 games is also: 1:1 (Andonishiki scored in Slot #1, and Rannohana scored in Slot #2). Nobody scored in Slot #3 - the score is still 1:1. Here comes the most important match France - Ukraine. What can happen: 1.) If France wins - Andonishiki scores 2 goals in Slot #4 and wins the match 3:1. 2.) If France draws - nobody scores a goal in Slot #4, Slot#5 and Slot #6 - the match finishes as a draw 1:1. 3.) If France loses - no goals are scored in Slot #4, but Andonishiki's chain breaks, and Rannohana scores 2 goals in Slot #5 and wins 3:1. Pretty interesting match as well. Hope my analysis is right. Lots of excitement is awaiting during the last day of round 2. Good luck!!! Edited June 14, 2012 by Achiyama

Achiyama 1,272 Posted June 15, 2012 (edited) I saw that the match France vs. Ukraine ha been suspended. Has anybody read when it will be played and how will be affected the schedule of the 3rd round games? P.S. As I see the match is on. Obviously, in Europe there is a different meaning of the word "suspended". It's more like "delayed" (in USA). In USA suspended means that the game won't be played the day it is scheduled. Or the journalist didn't use the right word. Whatever. Edited June 15, 2012 by Achiyama

In USA suspended means that the game won't be played the day it is scheduled. Or the journalist didn't use the right word. Whatever. There is a difference, maybe even in U.S.A. as delayed refers to a delayed start while suspended refers to a match which already has started. The match was under way for four minutes and was resumed an hour after the planned kickoff (with 41 minutes played until half time).

Asashosakari 20,297 Posted June 15, 2012 (edited) Wonder if Jejima has decided to stay up to watch this match? Edit: Ah, there he is in the activity list. ;-) Edit 49th minute: Getting interesting now... Edited June 15, 2012 by Asashosakari
chabonowaka 2 Posted June 15, 2012 just so everyone knows, my posting of the group c results in round 2 will be a little delayed, as the England-Sweden match will finish while i'm in transit from work to home. then it's immediately off to irish dance for my middle daughter, followed by quick dinner then mowing the lawn. if it's early enough, i'll take the youngest daughter outside to hang with the neighbors for an hour or so before dark, accompanied by drinks(juice for her, beer for me). then story/bed time, and round about 9:30-10:00 this evening, my time, i should get to sit down at the laptop and get the results posted. (Especially in sports) hold on. americans take liberties with the meanings of words? i'm terribly offended. or i might be, if it weren't true. (really, i'm not at all.) we do that a lot, don't we? probably my favorite example is the word moot. i don't know how or why we changed it, but we did.
