It looks to me as if Osh whacks one of the kids quite hard at around the 25 second mark of the first vid....

Totally.. the others also whacked some kids here and there, but it was all in good fun.. This particular kid was kicking him relentlessly in the shins..

This morning, they went to a children's hospital where they distributed toys and did the ceremonial picture taking. Then, they visited the world-famous Israel Diamond Exchange, and I hear they had a great time. The usually rigid diamond community went off their rockers as well, I hear. I wasn't there-work for a change..

I will be leaving for the Kokugikan, er I mean Caesaria in an hour. There will be a rehearsal, and then the real thing, where I get to do the dohyo-iri announcement, the kimarite announcements, and all the explaining. Is this cool or what??

Yesterday. I was invited to the inner sactum, where the details of the program were discussed, no foreigners, just me and the yobidashi, gyoji and Oyakatas. I even got to suggest some stuff, like which kimarite to demonstrate during the first half kimarite demonstrations, although in the end, they mostly stuck to the original, printed program...

"Tadaima no kimarite wa kubinage, kubinage de onnanoko no kachi". They are still reeling from the joke..

Maybe a little translation to provide some amusement also for members who don't speak Japanese (Sigh...) THX.

From wikipedia:

The Diamond Exchange Compound, in the northwest of Ramat Gan, is home to a large concentration of skyscrapers, including City Gate, Israel's tallest at over 240 meters, the Diamond Exchange (a world leader in fancy-cut diamonds, a large Sheraton hotel, and many high-tech businesses. Unfortunately, the area transforms nightly into the region's center of prostitution and unlawful gambling.

My shikona has never been mentioned..

I think it should. They'd get a laugh out of it I'm sure. I've always used puns etc in Japanese/with japanese people and after the initial incredulity and thinking I've madea mistake they usually work out from my grin that yes that was the intended meaning!!

Oh, definitely, but I'm saving it for my wedding might.. I managed to floor them, when they saw three really good looking girls in bikinis. I said;

"Tadaima no kimarite wa kubinage, kubinage de onnanoko no kachi". They are still reeling from the joke..

Kubinage huh.... (Sigh...) bad bad Moti (Punk rocker...)

Excellent job Moti - you must be exhausted!

I wonder if this visit will produce a explosion of new Israeli forumers, gamers and sumo followers?

Did Tominishiki come out of his retirement to get involved with you?

Well, friends, tonight was why life is so great. All those hours spent by the computer translating, reading, watching and learning from so many of you, culminated into what is surely the best day of my life, and I've been around for quite a while, thank you very much..

The Caesaria amphitheater was manin-sold out-packed. 4000+ people. Unbelievable. Sumo is non-existent here-only a handful of followers. Yet, the intensive PR brought the people. I can't even tell you that I felt as if I was in a dream, since I never dared to dream that such a day will ever come. I got to do the explanations, the dohyo-iri (in Hebrew..)and I was delighted to see that some of my ideas were implemented after all (matta, niramiai, monoii..). The tomoesen was between the three sekitori. Then, we were treated to a very long tomoesen with incredible bouts. The crowd was totally beside itself, as me and the announcer egged them all on. Suddenly, I just blurted out that former Yokozuna Kotozakura was with us. The crowd burst out with some loud applause, to which the ex-Oyakata responded by standing up from his wheelchair and waving. The whole scene was surreal and quite moving. Here were at least 3980 people who had no idea who he was, yet could feel he was someone special in Sumo..

In the end, Kotooushuu won. Then, I was called on to the dohyo to do the yusho interview!! I don't remember much, except Osh's smiling face.

The show ended at 23:00. Good night? Not in Israel. We all went to a restaurant, and I got back a few minutes ago, i.e around 2:30 am. The guys were in a great mood, as the Serious Sumo was now behind them, and some heavy eating and drinking ensued.

In 6 hours, we leave for the Dead Sea, then a farewell dinner party, then the airport at 4:30 am Friday.

The adrenaline is pumping like mad. I'll post some pictures, but probably not before Friday.

The only thing I regret is that you all couldn't be there.

Oh, yes-I am planning a big surprise for the forum..

PS-Mickey performed a totally awesome, perfect izori, which made the rikishi themselves gasp. I will try to get it on tape and upload it as soon as I can.

That's great, 満員御礼!! (Punk rocker...)

May I ask how much the ticket per person was,

and how many days they spend to sell all of the tickets?

I can't even tell you that I felt as if I was in a dream, since I never dared to dream that such a day will ever come.

I'm very happy for you.

You have been a sumo fan for so long.

Did you do Yusho interview in Japanese?

I'll post some pictures, but probably not before Friday.

Please enjoy with them, but don't cry at the airport! :'-(

The average price was about 120 shekels, roughly $27, and it took about two weeks to sell the tickets.

Did you do Yusho interview in Japanese?

I asked Osh in Japanese, and translated the answer to Hebrew (I hope..)
