You mean seven?

No, six. Like I said, I blew through the sanyaku setup pretty quickly since it didn't seem like it would matter for Ura's schedule, and I wound up shuffling them the wrong way.

I think Oho's my third most likely pick.  I'm going to go out on a limb with

If you get this right, pick my lottery numbers next. (Laughing...)

Looks like the game got interesting before day 11 after all ;-)

I just noticed they didn't do day six like I thought they did, so now we maybe have a 50/50...?

Still can't bring myself to go against

8. Oho

Interesting. It was spot on here.

I got Day 6 right, but it's disappointing that Ura is so low ranked that people couldn't make use of that and get an advantage.

Indeed, it looks like a 50/50 split. So, I choose...

Nope, but you had an almost fatal embrace with the deadline.

There's something I must be missing, because I'm baffled why so many players strayed from the obvious path.

Sumo Spiffy (Oe) 8-0
Profomisakari (Sw) 8-0
Jakusotsu (K1e) 8-0
Fashiriteta (K1w) 8-0
shimodahito (M1e) 8-0
Bunbukuchagama (Ow) 7-1
Ryoshishokunin (Se) 7-1
WAKATAKE (M2w) 7-1
Andonishiki (M3w) 7-1
Kachikoshi (mz) 7-1
Oshirokita (K2w) 6-2
Hakuhonofan (M1w) 6-0-2
Jejima (M2e) 6-2
The Kyokai (M3e) 0-8
Gurowake (Ye) kosho

Ura's aites: 1. Ichiyamamoto, 2. Takayasu, 3. Takanosho, 4. Hiradoumi, 5. Takerufuji, 6. Shodai, 7. Tamawashi, 8. Oho

The last two times (at least) there has been a seven man sanyaku, on day eight the intra-sanyaku match did not involve an Ozeki, which would line up Onosato to face Ura. I'm not sure why it worked out differently this time.

Exactly. In Kyushu 2024, this day's intra-sanyaku bout was the equivalent of Daieisho vs Oho.

So I was lucky going with the standard Komusubi pattern, I see.

One thing I've noticed after taking this approach (looking for a san'yaku of the same size as whatever we're working with) is that if the ranks don't line up the same, some decisions turn out differently. I had to go back to 2020-21 to find seven-man san'yaku setups with an active yokozuna; of the three I saw, two went the way this one did, and the other went the direction that would have resulted in Koto v. Ura. That's why I thought it was pretty split (between Oho and Koto), but didn't think Onosato was a realistic option.
