Disclaimer/introduction for new players

The Wall:

If a sumotori gets his first makekoshi (MK = losing record) in that respective division, it's called "hitting the wall" (KK = winning record, means missing the wall, which is a good thing). This basho we have Wakamotoharu (brother of Wakatakakage) and Nishikifuji in makuuchi. In Juryo we have Tochimaru and newly promoted Oshoma, Chiyosakae and Gonoyama.

Promotion/demotion/kadoban/intai:

An Ozeki winning less then 8 bouts is set on the kadoban status. If he doesn't score 8 wins the following basho, he is demoted to Sekiwake. This basho it's Shodai (4th try) and Mitakeumi (1st).                Sekiwake Wakatakakage scored only a 9-6 last basho, but is still on an Ozeki run with 21 wins from 2 consecutive basho. 11 wins would give him the 32 wins over 3 basho for a promotion.

Guess the colour of the giant macaron:

One of the prizes for the yusho winner is a giant fake macaron (as placeholder for a load of real, normal sized macarons from one of the best Pâtisseries in Paris). The colour varies and it has become a popular game to guess it.

Are you missing the macaron question and did you put Terunofuji instead of Takakeishō?

Terunofuji was an a failed ctrl-c/ctrl-v, but the macaron was definitely in my first post. The macaron is always the first section i complete, because of the neat auto-fill Vivaldi offers. I added it now.

If you, @Hakuryuho, @Yarimotsu and @Bakayokozuna can not answer it now, because it's closed for you, please post your choice.

And by the way, i think it's time for a macaron from the fridge. Toodeloo

*Pfff* buy your own macarons :-D

I don't know about LIDL outside Germany, but here it's become my prime source for those delicious treats. Last week they had 2 different offerings at the same time, i was in heaven!

Daieisho has an outside chance at Ozeki promotion too.

There was a news leak.  This basho, the macaron will have the gay pride rainbow.  :-|

All hit walls except WMH. Mitakeumi and Shodai are future ozekiwake. Takakeisho does fine. WTK kachikoshi and the eternal ozeki run continues. Purple because I don't think I've ever picked it before.

Bonus prognostication no one asked for: Takayasu has what has become his new normal, an impressively aggressive and hard fought 5-10.

You know he's out of the basho, right?

Nope. News to me. Last I'd heard there was a possibility of him getting a clean test before the basho, but that is no longer the case.

Backup Bonus Prediction: Mitakeumi makekoshi by day 12. He's injured and missed degeiko, but he's also been training for a long time without stiff competition at his stable. So, I think he'll hold off makekoshi for longer than some others here expect but will be completely irrelevant by day 12.

There was that hope, but a toriteki tested positive in the last round so the whole stable isn't even making the trip to Nagoya.

At least I was correct that Mitakeumi would be irrelevant by day 12.
