Video Stream - Availability

Interestingly, they have different Aki basho video files with different sizes for the daily ticket: http://www.ustream.tv/Sumo-Daily

The file sizes of the same video vary for different sessions as well, I'm not sure if also the quality varies. Different videos of nearly same length have sometimes twice the size, but on first sight look as the same quality.

I used Reget for the 2nd download of the 3 weird/partially useless long videos, like for all of my daily pages/pics. It's much faster, but I still need to get the link (with session id or the like) from DownloadHelper (the Firefox Network Analysis is sufficient as well, but not as user friendly as DH).

One video is bad in both archives: Day 2 part 6, less than an hour when played, but 2:30h in the download and no video.

Edit: Livestreamer got the video, but the whole 2:30 in 1.13GB and it took 1:30h. And it is also contained in one of the other extra long videos of Day 2 Part 5.

The NSK Seasonal Ustream site has been shut down, but the Daily site is still alive. Will they bring it back as a free or subscription site??

Edit: The Seasonal site was reactivated about 24 hours later.

Niji stoped working for me 3 days ago. Can't get any channels to work since then. Anyone?

My warnings had nothing to with NHK-they were from the Kyokai. Bad news though- if this continues .. Nothing on the net acknowledging there's a problem so far.

And Niji doesn't only show the NHK channels, of course.

Kinta, you found the timing of the warnings awkward, right? Well, I find the timing between your warnings and a suddendly nonfunctional Niji awkward... Coincidene? mmhh...

Niji at my place for the last 5 days not even connects to the streaming media server (shown as -1 after the Japanese error message at the bottom left).

Does everyone has this or is it maybe my (slightly changed) system that blocks the necessary p2p communication now?

I haven't subscribed yet to the service that provides UBS, is it worth the try or has this also become too bad to use?

For me, Niji has been strange of late. If I try for NHK at login, I usually do not get it, but if get a successful link to one of the other stations, and then go for NHK, it will activate.

I have no idea what is happening with UBS, I check it a couple times a day or night, but it is almost always inactive. I have found it active 2 or 3 times in the last week, but the times/days seem to be random.

Just randomly checked the NSK homepage and found - only on the Japanese language page - that there will be another attempt to have a pay-per-view video streaming service with

Senshuraku ticket 1,500¥ (Last Day including the Yusho Ceremony!!!)

No, that's the whole point of Ustream shutting down its in-house PPV solution; they now require broadcasters to bring their own payment scheme.

After registering to the new ustream side there is no email feedback. I have tried it 2 times and have not recieved any id or password within the last 24 hours.

kyokai will be surprised with noone paying for there videobroadcast... the incompetence of kyokai fixing their steaming problems is getting kind of awkward. (Scratching chin...)

Look into your spam folder, there it is.

I used an own email account with no spam filtering. To be sure I tried it again with another email provider. No response either. The password resend option also doesn't work...

Hi Kuroi...I'm trying to find out the best options for my mate Gary (Chocshoporyu) who watches (secretly) from his office in London. Is this jpPlayer free to download? Easy to set up? Any info for a non-techie-type like me would be appreciated. Also, I can't make head not tail of the above comments but the gist I am getting is that there is no free access this time?
