Hakuhō and Kisenosato at 11–0, Kakuryū at 10–1 and Harumafuji at 9–2, anything could still happen. Kotoōshū will have to beat at least one of the latter three in order to retain ōzeki status, having failed against Hakuhō today.

Osh has already faced Kisenosato.

Right, I forgot about that. He still has a chance to make kachi-koshi, then; just has to beat Aoiyama tomorrow and then hope to get a win in the last 3 days. It’s gonna be hard to get that last win, though; considering in what form his opponents are.

Could this be the time for Kotoōshū to lose his ōzeki status? I hope he can somehow pull through, either against Kakuryū or Kotoshōgiku.

Hakuho probably faces kise on friday, Haru on Saturday? Kise has looked really, really good. Like an actual contender. And with the way Harumafuji has been fighting, I think we'll get to see another epic yokozuna bout on senshuraku.

Aoiyama winning tomorrow would be an even bigger surprise than Kisenosato going 15-0.

In any case, I have to point out that if he Kisenosato beats Harumafuji tomorrow, there's no way Kotoshogiku will beat him,

And even a 13-2 Kisenosato Jun-Yusho (would be his first JY since Sekiwake and only his second time getting 13 wins in Makuuchi) with a win over a Yokozuna might actually be enough to start the tsuna talk for him...

I think the plan is:

Day 15:

Ye-Yw

O1e-O2e

O1w-O2w

Day 13 or 14:

Ye-O1e

Yw-O1w

Ke-Kw

Day 13 or 14:

Ye-O2e

Yw-O2w

O1e-O1w

They've already departed from the standard schedule by having Ye-O1w and Yw-O1e on Day 12 (should be Day 13 normally - the switch was by necessity though), so I have no idea which of the latter two sections goes with Day 13 and which with Day 14. It's possible to make a case for both versions.

If Kise beats HMF, I have the sneaky suspicion that Osh will also beat HMF, provided, of course, that he's already beaten Aoiyama. A little Former-OBSC conspiracy...

Since technically Kakuryu is still in the yusho race maybe it makes sense for him to have been saved to be Kise's last opponent. Of course if he loses to Hak tomorrow, that argument goes out the window too.

Yes, Day 15:

Ye-Yw

O1e-O1w

O2e-somebody

O2w-somebody

Ke-Kw

is also possible, but it's very rare that, when there are 5 or 6 active yokozuna/ozeki, one of them doesn't get to take part in the final three bouts. I've only seen that happen when some other Y/O withdraws around the middle Sunday and an O-O bout that would now be needed for Day 15 has already taken place. Hence my assumption that it'll be O1e-O2e + O1w-O2w.

OK, so Osh has Aoiyama ( a fusensho for sure) tomorrow and still has Kakuryuu and Harumafuji. Who's his fourth opponent? The one that will make the difference? I can't see even a half-worthy opponent, so I bet the farm Osh is safe.

I highly doubt that. Harumafuji is now Mr. Harumafuji and does not play these games. He badly needs a good result, and a 10-5 just won't do. (I'm assuming he will lose to Hakuhou and probably to Kisenosato, which already is an 11-4)

Great, demote him AND break him in one bout. Kotooshu can't fight the little guys.

I'm less certain that HMF will lose to either Kise or Hak. Do you think it's likely because he's not in the yuusho race, or because Hak and Kise could genuinely beat him? Against Hak, I'd see it go either way, but I don't see Kise normally being an obstacle for HMF.

Two out of three of their last bouts went Kisenosato's way. you can never know, but Kise seems to be on a roll. But, so is Harumafuji who is hell bent on getting a good record this time to shut the talkative ones up for now. I do think Hak and Kise at present can beat him, but who knows.

Going to be fun to watch.. And what if Harumafuji wins it? Not that farfetched-Harumafuji can beat both of them, Kise can beat Hak and drop another one..

Epic effort from Takanoyama today... in both fights! But on the other hand was Asasekiryu way too passiv...

Just awesome. Watching any match with Takanoyama is likely to be entertaining. He uses such un-standard sumo because of his weight. Unfortunately even at his best, he is just too light to be a top contender. With his passion he could really make some noise if only he had more weight to stand against the heavier rikishi.

I just hope Osh won't get another freebie with Aran.

I know what you mean, but the worst Makuuchi debut I can remember is Towanoyama's.

"Akiseyama" and "tough nut" - sorry, makes me laugh. (Laughing...)

You are right, "wobbly jelly to get hold of" would fit better
