Hakuoho did look off in his bout today. For all the promise he has, he really can't catch a break. If he already has so many issues while young, then it doesn't look good for his long term career.

Arashio-beya reported he hit his head on the dohyo in his first bout, a yoritaoshi loss. An MRI scan and other tests found no abnormalities but as a precaution he has been withdrawn for observation.

Sd13e Tokisoma had a fusenpai on Day 5 as a precaution after developing a fever, but hasn't withdrawn from the basho. His next bout should be on Day 8, so we'll see if he's able to appear then. Seems like there's a bug going around.

Enho, Raiho, Kiho, Tenshoho, Matsui, Hakuoho.........pretty sure they're legit injury cases. Even considering that some of the absences may be unrelated to injury, that's quite a lot of hurt for one heya (former heya I guess).

Thanks for the article! It says no plan to reenter so demotion to sekiwake confirmed. Kyujo is due to neck and other pain which also troubled him last basho. Kakuryu/Otowayama says that return to ozeki will not be easy, but from now until next basho they'll focus firstly on healing.
