Is the group D refoiji situation correct (three different people)?

Yes. Basically it is just Jakusotsu. But I will assist with announcing round 2 results, and Achiyama will jointly (along with Jakusotsu) receive round 3 line ups. This is because Jakusotsu will be away for a few days.

Let's look at the entry stats....

Yokozuna pick....

England - 10
France - 7
Germany - 7

England is the most popular! The hosts Germany and France share the remaining picks. Not a bad spread.

Ozeki pick....

Portugal - 17
Spain - 7

I'm surprised at the dominance by Portugal - more than double the selection picks of Spain.

Sekiwake pick....

Belgium - 12
Netherlands - 7
Italy - 5

The reigning Euro champions Italy are the least popular pick! Belgium collects half of the selections.

Upper Joi-jin pick....

Switzerland - 14
Turkiye - 10

Turkiye has the shorter odds of the two teams - yet Switzerland is the more favoured.

Lower Joi-jin pick....

Austria - 9
Serbia - 8
Hungary - 7

Almost the perfect spread.

Upper Mid-Makunouchi pick....

Ukraine - 8

Another near perfect spread.

Lower Mid-Makunouchi pick....

Czechia - 15
Romania - 9

Not quite as bad as the Portugal v Spain division, but not far off, with Czechia the clear favourite of the two.

Lower Makunouchi pick....

Slovakia - 12
Slovenia - 6
Albania - 3
Georgia - 3

Slovakia hoovering up half of the selections! Both Albania and Georgia only managed to canvass support from one player other than the two (Representative and Counterbalance) players forced to pick them.

I m very surprised. I think there is a big mistake here. Albania is much better than all the other three in this group of teams. Anyway we'll see.

Overall picks....
Portugal is the most picked side (it was also the most picked in last year's Bench Women's World Cup). Czechia is the second most picked team. Both of these are in group F, which means that we will likely be waiting until the final day's action for each round, before knowing clear results.

Albania 12.50% - Lowest Group B

Georgia 12.50% - Lowest Group F

Italy 20.83% - Group B

Slovenia 25.00% - Lowest Group C

Germany 29.17% - Joint Lowest Group A

Hungary 29.17% - Joint Lowest Group A

Scotland 29.17% - Joint Lowest Group A

Spain 29.17% - Group B

France 29.17% - Joint Lowest Group D

Netherlands 29.17% - Joint Lowest Group D

Serbia 33.33% - Group C

Ukraine 33.33% - Lowest Group E

Austria 37.50% - Joint Highest Group D

Poland 37.50% - Joint Highest Group D

Romania 37.50% - Group E

England 41.67% - Group C

Turkiye 41.67% - Group F

Croatia 50.00% - Highest Group B

Denmark 50.00% - Highest Group C

Belgium 50.00% - Joint Highest Group E

Slovakia 50.00% - Joint Highest Group E

Switzerland 58.33% - Highest Group A

Have you seen their group compared with Slovakia's?

Same reason Spain got less than half of Portugal's picks when they are a better team.

@Asapedroryu To me, the difference of level of Abania with the other three teams of their group is more or less the same as the difference of level of Slovakia, Slovenia and Georgia with the other teams in their respective groups.

And out of all these the one who is the most likely to create an upset is Albania (which could decide the win in a face to face in Bench Euro).

As I said, we'll see. We'll find out soon enough.

And I respectfully disagree. Portugal has a great team this Euro. Definitely as good as Spain's.

The bookmakers give the same odds to Portugal and Spain as competition winner. They do know something, don't they? ;-)

I’m not convinced. If they were all in the same group, yes I believe Albania would top it. As it stands, I think Slovakia has more chances against Romania and Ukraine, than Albania against Spain, Italy and Croatia. We will have to wait 2 weeks and see.

As of Spain vs Portugal, if we look at each position, Portugal has better players, but as a team Spain is better. This time Portugal has a coach, but it is still Mr Mendes making the team selection and CR7 wanting to play every minute. Unless the coach grows some balls and removes the outside influences from the team during the tournament, they will be lucky to get pass the 4F.

Regarding the odds and bookmakers they put England on top, so that should answer your question if they know something. I would rather put all my money in Albania winning it.

Always the same with England and the english bookmakers. Dreamers since 1966... I assume Italian, Spanish or French bookmakers have different odds.

I don't know if it's dreaming but practical. I assume most English punters (casual ones that only bet during big tournaments) will place a bet on England because they want England to win regardless of the true likelihood.

In the unlikely event that England wins, the bookmakers don't want to be paying out lots of money, so at least for England the odds of winning should be higher than reality.

At least, that's how I imagine it to be.

Nope. They're on top everywhere I looked. Not only in France.

Well, I've been asking my co-worker with the best football expertise available whether I should pick England (who always lose) or France (who always win), and even he favoured England this time, so go figure . . .
