Group C - Round 2

Nothing happening here yet except for Ganzohnesushi's chain being broken in slot 5.

I assume it will - as expected - break already in slot 4 for a perfect 3 GBL.. Nevertheless, did you know I'm a big fan of Poland, Scotland and Czechia  ;-)  ?

Group E - Refioji Nekonishiki
Round 2 - Day 3

No player has neither England nor Scotland in the line-ups, so if you don't mind, I'm sending today's results already now.

Ojisan vs Chijanofuji

Ojisan scores a goal with his droning line-up! Depending on results of Spain, there can be even 2!
In this case it would be a short match, though. Ojisan's chain is officially broken in Slot #2.
Ojisan also gets a draw from Croatia in #6, but it already has no importance.

Achiyama vs Djodjoyoshi

Achiyama put his today's teams in "reverse order", so his chain will break in Slot #4 at latest.
Too bad, there were already 2 potentional goals waiting for him.

We'll see the rest tomorrow, on the deciding final day of this round.

Group C - Round 2

The grandmother of all national Derbys failed to deliver a single goal (which might be considered as a success for Scotland, but it doesn't feel that way).

Shounokuni 1:0 Joaoiyama
(Ukraine) (North Macedonia)

Ukraine ® W 1: France ©
Italy W 0:0 W Netherlands
France : W Wales
Turkey L : Germany
Russia W :x L Switzerland
Portugal :x Poland
Denmark © L :x L Finland
Scotland D :x L North Macedonia ®
Hungary :x L Denmark

Nothing happening here at all.

Pitinosato 0:1 Ganzohnesushi
(Netherlands) (Austria)

Spain : W Netherlands ©
England D :1 W Belgium
Croatia D : Spain
Ukraine W :x L Slovakia
Netherlands ® W :x L North Macedonia
Slovakia L :x Poland
Austria © L :x L Denmark
North Macedonia L :x L Switzerland
Switzerland L :x L Austria ®

Important goal by Ganzohnesushi! But he needs Spain to lose for taking the match.

Group F round 2, day 3.

Godango - Terarno :

The draw of England might look as a bad result for Godango but it isn't really. The reason? The win of Sweden gave a goal at S3 for Godango and breaks the chain for Terarno at that same slot. So What happens next? Terarno needs France to win to stay alive and maybe get a draw. If that happens (it should but look at England-Scotland...) then all will depend on what Portugal and Spain will do at S4.
If France doesn't win, Godango will also score at S1 and win at least 2-0. Expect an exciting final day in round 2.

image.png.f0c306a30904f42a3a36c53cfd77dc2d.png

Chishafuwaku - Finngall :

Croatia couldn't win today so Finngall scored at S4. All the focus will be on S5 where the 2 representative teams of our opponents face each other... but they also face each other at the EURO ! So let's have a look at what could happen.
Portugal-Germany = draw.  We'll also have a draw between Chishafuwaku and Finngall with final score 1-1.
If Portugal wins, Chishafuwaku will get the win by 3-1.
If Germany wins, Finngall will get the win by 0-3.

image.png.b8ad97c43e593ff06305b1999237cd9e.png

Now could all that be more exciting? This is the group of death, told you!

So my youngest (Kaba) needs Spain to win (and Germany not to win, to get at least a draw), but my wife (Fujiko) needs Spain to draw or lose.....  That's going to make things interesting!

One of the considerations I (and you as well? :-/) may want to take into account while contemplating my (your) round 3 line-up is that teams that have already qualified for the round of 16 after their second match and are also certain or almost certain of finishing in 1st place in their group (thus far these are Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands) may choose to rest their best players and play the final group match with a partial or complete 2nd team. And whether they will or will not do so may not be revealed until the managers announce their match line-ups only hours before kick-off....

Of the tree I mentioned only the Netherlands are already 100% sure they will finish in 1st place BTW....

Just a thought I thought I'd give you to think about... ;-)

On the other hand we could also consider that the players of the "second team" will want to prove that they deserve to be in this Euro and give all they have during that 3rd game. It will probably also be the only match they'll play so their motivation will be even bigger. And, last thing,  most of the already qualified teams have very good players on the bench who sometimes equal the players of the "first team". So, even if your thought is definitely logical, it's not necessarily a sure thing. Up to each one's strategy!  :-)

Just a thought for the future to Sir @Jejima. Why not consider to also do the "Bench Copa America" ? :-)

Only 10 teams compete in the Copa America, so would not really work using similar rules to bench World Cup and Euros.
