Three players have their chain broken, only ScreechingOwl has a chance to collect some more goals to his existing 2.

The other goal scorer is chishafuwaku whose chain is broken in Slot 4, but he could score a goal in Slot 1.

Ladies had bad luck in this round, maybe it will be better in the second one, since they will play each against the other.

It doesn't affect the score at all. It can only determine whether Screechy's line will be broken at slot #6 or slot #7 without any effect on the score.

If Belgium wins or draws the score will be 4:0, if Belgiun loses the score will be 2:0.

Group "A" update:

Chocshoporyu wins over Jakusotsu 2:0. If Russia wins tomorrow - it will be 3:0. If Russia draws or loses - it will stay 2:0.

The second bout is far from being decided.The loss of Ghana to USA resulted in both chains to stay unbroken. Andonishiki either will win, or the worst there will be a draw.

What are the options:

1.) If Russia wins - Fujiyama's line will be broken. Andonishiki will be the winner - either 2:0 if South Korea draws or loses, or 3:0 if South Korea wins.

2.) If Russia draws - same situation as (1.) happens.

3.) If Russia loses - Andonishiki's line will be broken. Score will be 1:0 for Andonishiki, but Fujiyama's line will be unbroken.

4.) If (3.) happens and South Korea wins - Andonishiki will be 1:0 winner.

5.) If (3.) happens and South Korea draws or loses - Fujiyama scores a goal. Score will be a draw 1:1. On the next slot #8 the Netherlands' win for Andonishiki and the Cameroon' ® loss for Fujiyama breaks Fujiyama's line and the final score will be 1:1 DRAW.

Comment: Only now have I realized I've picked three teams from the same group. And the three weakest by the way. It was difficult to pick number #1 this time. The Dutch rolled over Spain in round one, but Brazilian fields a more solid formation (one referee in the middle with linesmen coming down the flanks) and there is no easy solution for that. Belgium was only number #4 this time but I really hope they score 10 or more goals in the group stage alone and maybe win the whole thing... :)

Achiyama: I notice that in Chocshoporyu's table, you have Ivory Coast down as a loss. I haven't checked to see if it makes a difference to the score, though. Also, I have told Gary and Mark to send their picks to you...they should arrive soon.

As for my game, it all went down the toilet as USA won and a very poor Nigeria couldn't beat a very poor Iran! Well done to my opponent, though...he got a GBL so I don't think I could have won even with a GBL of my own, unless somehow both South Korea and Algeria win...not that I'd have put them high anyway. Impossible to win this match, basically. Hope I get a bit more luck against Shimoda!

For Group G I am awaiting second-round picks from Kamogawa.

EDIT: I have emailed Kamogawa but still no reply with only 80 minutes to the deadline. Pitinosato may well be facing a drone.

Jejima: Three intra-squad match-ups! (Follow team orders). I have promoted England higher up in my line-up than they deserve for the following five reasons.... 1.) Even a draw would help me out here, as they are my © team. 2.) I'm an England fan. If England loses they are probably (not definitely, if Italy wins all of its matches) out of the World Cup, which would make me very sad. So, I hope they will do their best. 3.) Last Round:

I would have done really well if not for the Costa Rica upset, my picks were generally on point and I'm pretty proud about it. It was a great showing from Costa Rica and it is always good to see a CONCACAF team pull off an upset. Unfortunately for me I did not see it coming and it ruined my chances in the first round. I'm glad that the USMNT managed the win against Ghana, and with Portugal not at 100% for our next game my hopes are high for the USA advancing. Hopefully Jozy will be okay to play by the time we face Germany.

Current Round:

Hoping that Algeria is the weak team that I remember it as from previous world cups. I would have normally put Brazil in the first slot but they looked pretty lackluster against Croatia. Bosnia is a good team and should handily defeat Nigeria despite losing their first round match. Belgium and Russia is a bit of a toss up but I'm siding with Belgium this round. I'm not very confident in my picks as compared to last round. Hopefully everything plays out in my favor, especially after how my first round went.

Comment: Tricky one here, Domichi really needs a win and must be really motivated to get it. Sharing 4 teams on our lineups makes it even trickier. I hope that Italy, Brazil build on their first win and Portugal and Ecuador to regroup and grasp their chances of reaching the elimination phase. I am bit worried that Domichi will have more winners, so I might need some luck in terms of the order. Colombia and Russia might be decisive. Good luck for Round 2 everyone!

Refioji Comments: Domichi has really gone for it here with South Korea in the top slot. If that pays off he'll be very relieved. There are plenty of potential banana skins in Kuroimori's picks as well...will underachievers Portugal screw it up again against the organized USA, or indeed will the mediocre Italy side have the same trouble Uruguay had with Costa Rica? Could be very interesting.
