TORCHBEARER 2023: invitation, rules, and your picks
Saruyama replied to shimodahito's topic in Sumo Games
Takerufuji, Ms13e -
Chain Gang automation botched up today. My default pick was Shohozan, who won, yet I registered as a loss for the day and am out. I'm guessing this probably can't be fixed in time for me to get back in the game. But should be looked at nonetheless.

Not sure if I missed the deadline for this or not, but if not, then I'd like to pick: Homarenishiki and Makushita 16E -

Argentina ET (E2), 8. Brazil 1st, 9. Brazil ET Referee comments: Okay. Seeing as there is not a point scorer anywhere on either line-up. I believe this one goes down to PKs. Am I wrong here? I am confused a little by the rules of this match. That is all for now. Saruyama (THE monkey referee) (Please let me know if there have been any screw ups on my part)

Chishafuwaku vs Furanohana (Plate Match): Chishfuwaku: 1. Brazil 2nd, 2. Brazil 1st, 3. Netherlands ET ®, 4. Brazil ET, 5. Netherlands 2nd ®, 6. Netherlands 1st ®, 7. Argentina ET (E2), 8. Yet nothing can fix Brazil's mistakes and the mistakes of those who placed them high. A Netherlands good performance in the first half and this one is over. That is all for now. Saruyama (THE monkey referee) (Please let me know if there have been any screw ups on my part)

Other than that, it's really hard to predict what might make a difference here. That is all for now. Saruyama (THE monkey referee) (Please let me know if there have been any screw ups on my part)

Argentina is an ® team - so that should be two goals, and so 2-0 to Kotononami. You are very correct, I will go back and edit that post to reflect this.
-
I'm still waiting on a lineup from Kuroimori. Anyone know if there is a better way to reach him than PM? Time is ticking down, 5 hours to go before the deadline I set. If there is a legitimate reason he can't make that deadline, but can get them in before the kickoff I may be willing to extend it a little.

Deadline for mine is 3 hours before the match, which is 1 AM Japan time. 1 PM Brazil time.

Kotononami vs Shumitto (Bowl Match): Kotononami: 1. Argentina ®, 2. Netherlands, 3. Colombia (E2), 4. France, 5. Germany (E1), 6. Costa rica © vs Shumitto: 1. Belgium ®, 2. Brazil, 3. Netherlands, 4. Costa Rica (E1), 5. Columbia (E2), 6. xxx Referee comments: This one will of course come down to who's ® team capitalizes. Overtime will allow it to continue, but otherwise it all comes down to that match. A draw will give Shumitto the win however, do to the results on Kotononami's squad. Achiyama vs Nekonishiki (Saucer Match): Achiyama: 1. Argentina (E2), 2. Brazil ©, 3. Germany (E1), 4. France, 5. Colombia vs Nekonishiki: 1. Colombia (E2), 2. Netherlands, 3. Belated Update for Group F (1 &3) vs Group E (2&4) Cup Match: Kotononami vs Furanohana (0-2) Kotononami: 1. Argentina ®, 2. Germany (E1), 3. France, 4. Costa Rica ©, 5. Netherlands, 6. Mexico, 7. Greece vs Furanohana: 1. France ®, 2. Brazil, 3. Netherlands (E1), 4. Costa-Rica, 5. Chile, 6. Nigeria, 7. xxx Referee comments: Furanohana wins (0-2). My condolences to Kotononami. That was a tough one. Furanohana's gamble pays off, Kotononami's not so much. Saucer Match: Leonishiki vs Chabonowaka (0-1) Leonishiki: "Quel le meilleur gagne !!! Let's go France !!" 1. Germany (E1), 2. Brazil, 3. Costa Rica, 4. Switzerland, 5. Nigeria®, 6. Chile, 7. xxx vs Chabonowaka: (The wind whistles through the trees, crickets chirp. We still have not heard from Chabonowaka. We await anxiously to hear from him.) 1. Netherlands ©, 2. Brazil, 3. Mexico, 4. Uruguay, 5. Switzerland, 6. USA, 7. Costa Rica (E1) Referee comments: My previous post had an incorrect result on it, and with corrected results entered... we have a shocker! Chabonowaka wins (0-1) in regular time. I don't think anyone saw that coming. My apologies to Leonishiki for previously listing Germany as a win. I was getting abridged results, and didn't realize the OT nature of the win. My condolences on your loss. So in the end, Furanohana continues on in the cup matches, where I may eventually meet him it seems. Kotononami moves to the bowl matches, where I might have the honor of being his referee again. Chabonowaka stays in the saucer competition. Leonishiki is out. Both my group F players lost.... sad face. Good luck to all in your next matches. Saruyama (THE monkey referee) (Please let me know if there have been any screw ups on my part)

Belated Update for Group F (1 &3) vs Group E (2&4) Cup Match: Kotononami vs Furanohana Kotononami: 1. Argentina ®, 2. Germany (E1), 3. France, 4. Costa Rica ©, 5. Netherlands, 6. Mexico, 7. Greece vs Furanohana: 1. France ®, 2. Brazil, 3. Netherlands (E1), 4. Costa-Rica, 5. Chile, 6. Nigeria, 7. xxx Referee comments: With an Argentina win (in regular time) Kotononami will sweep this (3-0). With a draw or loss (in regular time) he will lose (0-1). Kotononami will surely be watching the Argentina match with baited breath. Saucer Match: Leonishiki vs Chabonowaka Leonishiki: "Quel le meilleur gagne !!! Let's go France !!" 1. Germany (E1), 2. Brazil, 3. Costa Rica, 4. Switzerland, 5. Nigeria®, 6. Chile, 7. xxx vs Chabonowaka: (The wind whistles through the trees, crickets chirp. We still have not heard from Chabonowaka. We await anxiously to hear from him.) 1. Netherlands ©, 2. Brazil, 3. Mexico, 4. Uruguay, 5. Switzerland, 6. USA, 7. Costa Rica (E1) Referee comments: Short of Switzerland shocking Argentina, this one will go into OT mode. Which will require me to go back and re-read just how the heck to do that. So... yay? I would also like to thank Jejima for doing the legwork on correcting the droning line-up for Chabonowaka, who has unfortunately received his second yellow card. That is all for now. The lineups for Group F (1 & 3) and Group E (2 & 4) Cup Match: Kotononami vs Furanohana Kotononami: 1. Argentina ®, 2. Germany (E1), 3. France, 4. Costa Rica ©, 5. Netherlands, 6. Mexico, 7. Greece vs Furanohana: 1. France ®, 2. Brazil, 3. Netherlands (E1), 4. Costa-Rica, 5. Chile, 6. Nigeria Referee comments: Kotononami has the numbers, by only 1 though. And both are packing some good teams in their opening spots, so this one should be good. Especially considering both openers are ® teams. That you see is a first for me as a referee... so whee! Saucer Match: Leonishiki vs Chabonowaka Leonishiki: "Quel le meilleur gagne !!! Let's go France !!" 1. Germany (E1), 2. Brazil, 3. Costa Rica, 4. Switzerland, 5. Nigeria®, 6. Chile vs Chabonowaka: (The wind whistles through the trees, crickets chirp. We still have not heard from Chabonowaka. We await anxiously to hear from him.) 1. Brazil, 2. Uruguay, 3. Netherlands ©, 4. Switzerland, 5. Mexico, 6. Mexico, 7. Costa Rica (E1) Referee comments: The Swiss match is a match, so it's scratched. Chabonowaka has the numbers, but Leonishiki isn't droning. So he may have the edge there. That is all for now. (Now is drinking time. Off to the nearest bar for beers, babes, and Brazil.... we can hope) Saruyama (THE monkey referee) (Please let me know if there have been any screw ups on my part)
