Bugman 384 Posted January 26, 2013 You're right Kinta, i don't know about any other of Haru's critics but he's certainly put a sock in my mouth, although i always thought his Yokozuna promotion was well merited and i was not bothered by his previous basho, i do have a dislike of harite (why i'm not a fan of Aoiyama any more, too much face grabbing,) and this tournament although he used them he did far more cerebral Sumo and i was blown away once again, you just can't give him any time to think or you're finished, Kakuryu gave him time to think today and it was all over. Loved the tight-rope walking gag :)
igirisujin 3 Posted January 26, 2013 This will do Ama's confidence the world of good. He's tended (sometimes because of injury) to perform poorly for some time after a yusho.Good on him. Not good for Baruto; started the basho hoping for a quick return to Ozeki and is now facing down the barrel of potential demotion to Komusubi.
dingo 1,240 Posted January 26, 2013 Miyabiyama actually managed to push someone back! Good for him for the win, though it doesn't look like he'd be able to stay in Juryo for a long time, even if he decides to/is allowed to. Also I wonder about the promotion requirements to ozeki for a second time -- would it be 33 (maybe even 32?) wins and no questions asked, or would there still be intensive inspection of the candidate's merit? Bugman 384 Posted January 27, 2013 Ah well it's all over, now to head out on the long journey through the wilderness before once again (hopefully) spying the warm glow of the next basho, thank you very much Kintamayama. :-)
igirisujin 3 Posted January 27, 2013 Wow! Another awesome Takanoyama bout. Bye bye Takamisakari; you won't be forgotten in a hurry, that's for sure. Bye bye Miyabiyama, from Makuuchi at least; doubt he'll be back in this division but credit to him for sticking it out. Good job Baruto got the win; we can now enjoy him properly focusing on regaining Ozeki status next basho. Well done HF for the zensho yusho! And lastly, many thanks to Kintamayama! The_Arrow87 7 Posted January 27, 2013 Thanks to all those who uploaded the bouts. I'm especially happy that all Juryo and Makushita bouts are up, it's always fascinating to see what's going on below Makuuchi, and there are many rikishis who got my attention. (I am not worthy...) Manekineko 200 Posted January 28, 2013 Thanks from me as well - even when I'm not really interested in daily bouts, I'll be looking forward to Kinta's comments. :-D

Asashosakari 19,138 Posted February 2, 2013 I'm filling in the video gaps right now, so if there are any bouts you'd been looking for, they should be there sometime tonight. Unfortunately my early recording of Day 5 was extremely corrupt, and the one assist I was already offered had similar issues - between those two recordings some bouts can probably be rescued, but if anyone out there has recorded the complete first hour or so (from the start of jonokuchi until Tamaisshin-Takasaito), I'd appreciate the clip. Late follow-up: Day 5 is now as complete as I can make it. Last call for somebody to pitch in with the last few missing bouts...
