Shomishuu 0 Posted October 1, 2007 Asashoryu's Mongolian psychiatrist explained Asashoryu's mental problem was the lightest condition he has seen ... ...I, personally, am not surprised at all - I just wonder what will comment on this those wise guys that sold the idea of DID.... Well, DID - however light - is still DID, no? :-D Yeah, might mean that Mr. Hide comes around only for Christmas... Or, "light" may mean that his DID is just harmless - displayed in writing funny posts in a gaijin sumo forum under (not-so) different name... ;-)
Jonosuke 28 Posted October 1, 2007 Dr. Honda also commented Asashoryu is regaining his spirit back and, "since he is eating more, he appears to have gained more weight". He indicated Asashoryu would likely come back to Japan in mid-Octorber but if he is unable to accustom to the Japanese life again, he may go back to Mongolia in the end of month to continue his treatment there. Kintamayama 47,300 Posted October 3, 2007 Takasago Oyakata has declared he will not be bringing Asashouryuu with him to Kyushu. Asa is supposed to be returning to Japan at the end of October. "He will remain in Tokyo and work on his physical injuries and strengthen himself. I'm looking for a place with lodgings and good treatment facilities for him", he said. Asa's manager has been searching for such a facility, and has said that he may stay at a temple. As for actually mounting a dohyo and doing keiko, Takasago says it won't happen till December 2nd when the winter jungyo commences at Oono-shi. "Until then, it is paramount he returns to his physical strength", summed Takasago Oyakata.
Kintamayama 47,300 Posted October 6, 2007 (edited) Asashouryuu is planning to return to Ulan Bator on the ninth for more serious training, disclosed Takasago Oyakata yesterday. His date of return to Japan will depend on how well the training will go. His back and elbow are completely healed after being treated at Khujirt, said the Oyakata. He now will commence serious physical training. "It's great that he now wants to start training", said Takasago. There is a plan for him to return on senshuraku of Kyushu, hold a press conference, and then go to the senshuraku party and apologize to the heya supporters as well. There are other plans, like returning to Japan and training in Tokyo before Kyushu. And there must be other plans as well. I do love it when a plan comes together.. Sashohitowa 6 Posted October 7, 2007 Great plans, indeed. I just wonder if Asashoryu is aware of any of them. Because, if anyone makes decisions without him, this really can hurt his feelings.. And he is so fragile and vulnerable now... By the way, how does Takasago oyakata knows these things he comments? Is he in Mongolia? (Has he been there at all since he left soon after Asashory's arrival?) Maybe some of his agents is reporting him? Or, eventually, he speaks with Asashoryu on the phone directly...? Kintamayama 47,300 Posted October 13, 2007 Asashouryuu has injured his right ankle in training yesterday. The injury happened as he returned to Ulan Bator for training a few days ago. A personal trainer was supposed to arrive today for him. The original schedule was to return at the end of this month to Japan and start keiko in November, but this injury may postpone things. Kintamayama 47,300 Posted October 17, 2007 Asashouryuu's camp is now saying a return before the middle of November looks impossible, as he is injured, and they see no use in returning to Japan while he is still injured. His personal trainer was called to Mongolia to personally train him, and he has reported that he is not in good shape. He may even remain in Mongolia till after Kyushu, when his suspension will be lifted. Green hedgehog

Kintamayama 47,300 Posted October 19, 2007 The new date of return now being thrown around is after Kyushu. Asa is planning to return to Dreamland and Khujirt for additional treatment after being injured again. "Even if he gets better sooner than expected, he will not return during Kyushu basho so as not to cause any disturbances..", explained Takasago Oyakata. Jonosuke 28 Posted October 22, 2007 (edited) There is another brouhaha brewing over Asashoryu's TV appearence on a future TV show. Asashoryu's good confidant and well known TV personality and astrologer Kazuko Hosoki earlier expressed in one of her TV programs, her desire to visit Asashoryu in Mongolia and cheer him up. Japanese TV network TBS decided to take up on her offer and asked the Kyokai if they could cover her visit. The Kyokai's PR department headed by Asashoryu's shisho Takasago oyakata initially granted a permission and the crew and Hosoki visited Asashoryui in Mongolia earlier this month. However the Kyokai is now saying they have cancelled the permission as Asashoryu is sitll under suspension and they clarified their view that the crew could cover it only after that time. TBS indicated that they had their permission when they indicated they would only air the show after the new year, which is not consistent to what Takasago oayakata, Kyokai's PR director is saying at the moment. It may be entirely possibly that the Kyokai is backtracking their earlier view as this incident started snowballed as other media outlets are already after them to explain why Asashoryu could appear in a TV program even though he has not even held a press conference to explain himself and apologize to anyone. A few directors commented that they were betrayed by Takasago oayakata and now demanding he keeps his words that he would take full reponsibility while Asashoryu is in Mongolia. "This is pathetic. Was he really getting detail reports from Asashoryu? This certainly speaks loudly on the oyakata's integrity. I am not sure if he is really sensing the urgency." one oyakata commented. The Yokozuna Deliberation Committee Chairman Yoshio Ishibashi was livid when he was told of Asashoryu's latest conduct. "We granted him to return to Mongolia so that he could come and compete again as a full fledged yokozuna. I have not confirmed the report yet but if he has violated the conditions set forth by the YDC, then it will be taken gravely indeed. It's one thing for him to participate in training but I must say we may have to follow with our true mandate if he is not committed to our advisory. This matter will be definitely taken up and discussed at our next meeting. In the last meeting there werer opinion expressed already for us to demand his retirement," Ishibashi said. The next YDC meeting is scheduled on November 26. TBS program directors are planning to visit and talk to the Kyokai's PR department on October 22. Takasago oyakata was interviewed as he returned to his heya from a night out on October 21, appearing to be intoxicated. "I have stamped the approval (as being the PR Director) but I cancelled it immediately. I heard from his manager that Asashoryu did not participate in the program. How could he do that when he is under suspension. It's unimaginable. But if he did, then we may have to think about it," the oyakata said. (Perhaps forgetting he is the PR Director) "I understand they are coming over, so if you want to know more detail, contact them."
