Other predictions? Endo and Shodai will be getting a kinboshi on Day 6 leaving Kakuryu and Goeido as the only undefeated with a shot at the Yusho. Doesn't matter though as whoever wins this won't be getting a zensho yusho. Yeah, Osu is playing at Makuuchi level. He's on a mission to zensho yusho. I predict both Endo & Shodai won't get kinboshi on day 6. Yokozunas are looking/acting their form, even Kak. Little guys watch: Can Ishiura get KK? Most of us don't think so in a poll but he is already 1/2 way to KK. I love it! Kitaharima got some bad tachi-hai and has already 4 losses in Juryo. Ura is holding his own but still providing entertaining bouts. Edited November 17, 2016 by robnplunder
Dwale 419 Posted November 17, 2016 Even if Ishiura only turns in mediocre performances in makuuchi, he shows good technique, and just being the little guy is inspiring. What can I say? I love an underdog.

In any case, he looks better, mentally if not physically, let's see where that does get him... Exactly. He got caught out twice in the same manner, and has apparently learned something from it (particularly what he shouldn't be doing in his current condition) - although it probably also helped that his Day 3-5 opponents don't have quite the aggressively forward-moving sumo that Yoshikaze and Endo do. Shohozan's probably too low to face Terunofuji this basho, but he's another guy I could see blitzing him like that. Anyway, if that counts as a suspicious development now...sheesh. It's like some people are thinking, "Oh, no, his knee is banged up! That must mean his only realistic record is 0-15 now!" and are then confused that he actually does win sometimes. That's not how it works. Edited November 17, 2016 by Asashosakari

For a lightweight, that's not small feat. Ura, unfortunately, seems to be at home in juryo. Maybe, a few bashos later, he will be ready for Makuuchi. Gagamaru is one of the most limited rikishi in terms of technique and mobility. If you step to his side, as Ishiura did, he's quite easy to defeat. I'm surprised any of the lighter rikishi go in head first against Gaga, actually. As for Ichinojo, he's injured. Ishiura did a nice job in that bout, but the injury is why Ichinojo has a losing record. I don't see Ishiura having sufficient ability to become a makuuchi mainstay.

It's too early to tell whether he belongs in Makuuchi or not. I hope he does. Nothing feels good like the underdog you rooted coming through against all odds. robnplunder 978 Posted November 18, 2016 Osu is looking like a man among boys in Juryo. I knew Ura will beat Amakaze. That was some match though.
Charles 0 Posted November 18, 2016 On Day 3, after very quickly losing to Goeido, Yoshikaze bowed, then clapped one hand forcefully against the other. What was he signifying? Is this acceptable behavior?
fwuzzle23 66 Posted November 18, 2016 Well, if yesterday didn't kill Takayasu's promotion chances, today finished them off.
rhyen 1,858 Posted November 18, 2016 Anyone thinks that the Goeido-Tamawashi could be a torinaoshi, based on the replay?

robnplunder 978 Posted November 18, 2016 (edited) Endo crushed Hak! Wow, when was the last time Hak lost like that? Wow! Three unbeatens have fallen today including Hak. Goeido lost a close one and well, who cares about Sokokurai. Kak, Hak, Kise, Goeido, Harumafuji are in hunt for the yusho. Who's gonna prevail? I can't wait. Did I mention Ishiura is 5-1? Technically, he's in the hunt, too. Realistically, no. Edited November 18, 2016 by robnplunder

I dont think we will see that often, Hak was having a bad and slow start... especially if you compare it to his 2 bouts before, and than you see how he fails to push him down, meanwhile endo is on full steam. I just wonder that hak was able to hold the balance that way for the time he did. :o yea kak's yokozuna pride is on the line... still i am rooting for haru! Harry 67 Posted November 18, 2016 Some wild guesses already true, some others could be true. Kakuryuu sole yusho leader at 6-0... still 9 days and the big boys to go but still I did not predict he would do well.

Pandaazuma 1,310 Posted November 18, 2016 (edited) Loads of predictions in this thread from a lot of names I don't know. You lads and lasses should join the sumo games...we could do with some new blood.
