Only 3 candidates for the wall this basho, boring. On the other hand we could see another new ozeki this year, much better.

Wakatakakage and Chiyonoumi will both miss the makuuchi wall. That's not a matter of opinion, as they're both in juryo...

There’s some good wrestlers low in makuuchi, so I’m predicting a splat from Takanosho. I think the ozeki will power through, and we’ll have four of them in Kyushu. Blue macaron, for the win.

I didn't even read comments, just picked green by intuition... Well, won't stand out from majority with that then... (Sigh...)

But noooob question now... (Blushing...)

What does Q1 mean? Hitting / missing makuuchi wall?

Q1 is short for Question #1. Hitting the wall, in this case, means the wrestler will be demoted back to the lower tier after this tournament. Missing it, the wrestler will be ranked in the current tier for the next tournament.

Sorry, but no. First of all i made a mistake, it should be the juryo wall for Wakatakakage and Chiyonoumi.

Hitting the wall means "achieving" your first makekoshi in that particular division. It's Wakatakakage's 3rd basho in juryo. He was 8-7 and 9-6 in his first two. I'd think it's time for him to hit the wall now.

Thanks to both. (Noddingyes...)  (Tho I did use 'Q1' on purpose, I just wanted to know what hitting/missing the wall means... ;-))

Hitting wall = getting makekoshi, got it. Danke. (Signofapproval...)
