Gurowake 4,109 Posted January 16, 2018 Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who valued Terunofuji highly for this basho. If I was using a more "I want to win" strategy, I'd probably have done the same as Ganzo, not wanting to risk things on him being actually more injured than he seemed. But with my goal to be to see how well using only results can do, and with the historical results in general showing that long-term quality is much more important than short-term, I was stuck with him. I wasn't particularly happy to put him as high as I did in many games, particularly picking him in the ones you don't get subs for, but that's part of my challenge. Ishiura and Chiyoshoma being 3-0 tells me I'm 0-3 in Quad without needing to check anything else. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I forgot Terunofuji's kuyjo changed my strategy, so I wasn't as bad off as I thought. Rocks 1,809 Posted January 18, 2018 My pre-basho games are completely dead at this point. I had Hakuho and Terunofuji on everything. Along with dong miserable at the dailies this is going to be pretty awful for me. I was hoping to get back to at least middle of the pack in some of them. Oh well. Originally I had Kakuryu in my pre-basho games. Unfortunately there was some quotation saying that he wasn't sure if he would enter so I switched to Hakuho. I did this because I was going away at deadline time to a place with no internet access. I didn't want to have picked Kakuryu only to discover that he wasn't taking part.
