Asashosakari 20,196 Posted December 16, 2012 The only wildcard is how to place Sadanofuji, really, and the effects this has on everything else. Over on 2ch I've seen everything from M6 to M12... Sadanaofuji on M6??? If that happens, I'll stop playing GTB immediately (Thinking in depth...) No way that he will get ahead of Wakanosato! (No, no, no...) I didn't say that those guys over there had a clue. (Laughing...)
Asojima 2,874 Posted December 16, 2012 (edited) No way that he will get ahead of Wakanosato! (No, no, no...) In my inscrutable, occidental wisdom, I have him two slots ahead of Wakanosato, but that is why I always end up in the bottom 1/4 of the heap. :-S Edited December 16, 2012 by Asojima
Pandaazuma 1,310 Posted December 17, 2012 What's the highest Makuuchi rank ever attained from a promotion from Juryo? Modern and ancient results would both be interesting. Looking at the next banzuke, Sadanofuji could benefit from a real vacuum in the broad area he might expect to be promoted to.

You get lucky with seven holes to fill, I suppose. Edited December 17, 2012 by Jakusotsu

Pandaazuma 1,310 Posted December 19, 2012 Thanks a lot, Jakusotsu. That was very interesting. No idea what to think about the Jokoryu comment. Is he just assuming he is down to Juryo or does he actually know? Assuming the latter, I've gone in and changed my GTB entry. Now just watch as Jokoryu hangs in there at M16W on Monday. Kintamayama 47,101 Posted December 20, 2012 Three days to go-44 entrants. See if you are registered here
Kintamayama 47,101 Posted December 21, 2012 Less than 24 hours-only 53 entries. And I was thinking of giving the winner a 48 inch flat screen sandwich..
Pandaazuma 1,310 Posted December 24, 2012 Gulp! From M8 to M16 I got 9 points! I really messed the bottom half of this one up! Top half was OK except for the top two ranks, which also surprised me. They really seem to give precedence to the lads falling over the ones coming up.
Kintamayama 47,101 Posted December 24, 2012 And here are the results for Hatsu 2013. Winner?? Andoreasu, back to back yusho, wins by a mile, catapulting him into first place overall!! Congratulations!! 68 entries in all, three more than last time. Not a single new player. OTOH,8 of the 10 top ranked players finished in the top 11. Gallstones: Sukubidubidu-60 bashos Kaiowaka-50 bashos Shimodahito- 40 bashos Bill-40 bashos Thanks for playing and now, on with the Ba-show!! Results
Jakusotsu 6,361 Posted December 24, 2012 (edited) Andoreasu, back to back yusho, wins by a mile, catapulting him into first place overall!! Congratulations!!And look at his score! Very well done. (even with two extra Maegashira ranks ;-) ) Me, I'm just happy I didn't share a sip of Ganzohnesushi's wine. kuroimori 1,634 Posted December 24, 2012 Blimey! I didn't expect to do that well! experience tells me - this time as well - better not getting used to it. After a lucky top five finish at GTB Kyushu, I'm back to my usual 7-8 mk. and once more it showed that sticking to the first free draft just after the last bout on senshuraku isn't the worst of plans. Now I get focused on another Day 1 blooper at Chaingang...
Asashosakari 20,196 Posted December 24, 2012 At least I'm back from the wilderness. Playing for the kabuki factor with Miyabiyama and Kotoyuki at the last minute cost me second place though, darn.
Yubinhaad 11,949 Posted December 24, 2012 (edited) 3rd place! Equals my personal best finish. Blimey! I didn't expect to do that well!I didn't get a GTB kachi-koshi until my 8th basho either - well done for sticking with it. At least I'm back from the wilderness. Playing for the kabuki factor with Miyabiyama and Kotoyuki at the last minute cost me second place though, darn. And I thank you for your charity! :-D ======= Top Ten changes - veterans Itachiyama, Ekigozan and Sukubidubidu drop out. Asashosakari and Gooner are both back after a three-basho spell in the bewilderness; this is the 30th basho in the Top Ten for Asashosakari, 20th for Gooner. And an obvious lapse in security has allowed Yubinhaad to sneak back in for the first time since November 2009. Feginowaka has been in the top ten for 11 consecutive bashos; Bafa and Kyokuhagyo for 9. Edited December 24, 2012 by Yubinhaad
Koorifuu 1,100 Posted December 26, 2012 12th out of 68. That's definitely an improvement from the last time I tried! (last place..)
