I saw on the calendar there were a few birthdays coming up at the end of the week and just wondered how old the members are. We had a gender poll not so long ago, but I can't see one on age.

I hope no-one takes offence. If you do, don't answer the poll. You don't have to tell us your age, just vote for the range that fits you. No disparaging comments about mental age as well please! (Neener, neener...)

We did have one about half a year ago, but with the influx of new members, maybe the demographics have changed. (Neener, neener...) I do think this should go into Off-Topic though, not Sumo-Related...

Moved, along with several other demographicky topics...

I've been a bad, bad moderator to let it go on like this. (Oops! ) (Neener, neener...)

No problem, I don't see why I should be offended by such a question. I'm 38.

Does anyone have any idea how the demographics usually look in sport forums? Does it differ a lot between sports (likely I suppose) and is this forum in average older than normal or younger? My spontaneous guess is that especialy the group 16-20 is much bigger in some general sports forum, but it would be interesting to know if there are actual stats on it... (Neener, neener...)

I'm 28 by the way :-)

To continue the theme from the last few posts, I'm also turning 24 later this year. :-)

24 is a good age. I am 28. When I am 32 I think 28 is a good age.

I once saw a turtle that was over 100 years old. Church near-by is 500 years old. Kintamayama is 6.

Snowboard forum's middle age is probably <20. Petanque-forums' middle age is probably >20. Everything else is guesswork :-)

After I learned that women aged 40 and over make up the largest percentage of online role-playing game players, I don't assume anything about forum demographics anymore :-)

I'm 17 since april 5th.

You're like the fifth person who was born in April and likes sumo, including myself. Maybe it is true about that most fans being born in the Spring time. (We'll at least to those above the Equator) (Blinking...)

Snowboard forum's middle age is probably <20.

Funnily enough, I post on a Snowriders forum in Japan, most of the members are foreigners living itn Japan - teachers and professional workers, here are the results of a poll on demographics

under 20 2% (1)

20-25 37% (16)

26-30 26% (11)

31-35 21% (9)

36-40 7% (3)

40+ 7% (3)

Well... There are 12 months. 12 x 5 = 60. And since there must be more than 60 sumo fans, right?

I think the distribution was pretty even when we had a poll of wich month ppl were born in.

Geez.

Actually, your's was one of the birthdays that I saw when I started thinking about this poll. I'm approaching 30 in September and parts of me are feeling my age. Others have no such problem.
