someone else besides me must have met Moose. (i would post the pic but i dont look good in it)

Not a good pic, but a few of the SML had the pleasure of meeting Mushashimaru at Brunch (Thanks, Lynn!). The lighting was terrible (as it was around the casino & the venue), but I did get a photo. I'll post despite not looking good in it, nor making it much better in photoshop. :-D

Musashimaru_Me.jpg

If you wanna post a pic in which you look GOOD, then how about the one where you go bonkers standing behind the Yokozuna? :-D :-S Heheh...

I did see Musashimaru as well, but missed that photo op.... darn! :-D

Cheers

Oh, and here is definitive proof that Hakuho WAS gambling :-D Call the cops!! :-S

hakuho-zenji.jpg

in this picture, it looks like hakuho is wearing a yukata of kaio's(Eh?). does anyone know why? (the obi is his, tho'.)

Good catch. Believe I read in another post that it is not unusual for a rikishi to wear a yukata with the name of another rikishi who he admires usually with the name reversed right to left as it is here. Kaio (Tomozuna) and Hakuho (Miyagino) are in the same Ichimon for what that's worth. Maybe doing it in honor of Kaio since he is kyujo and could not attend.

Actually, turns out that this is very common :-D If you were to try and identify rikishi by what is says on their yukata, you would be totally out of luck. :-S I just went back to the pictures I took, I got:

Hakurozan wearing Roho

Tamanoshima wearing Tokitsuumi

Asasekiryu wearing Kaiho

Tokitenku wearing Asasekiryu

Roho wearing Kokkai

Kotooshu wearing Wakanosato

Kisenosato wearing some one I am not totally sure of, but it's NOT himself :-D

Iwakiyama wearing Musoyama (I think)

Takekaze wearing Dejima

and several more... :-D

Barbara tells me that heyas traditionally exchange fabric of the rikishi, so it's common practice :-D

(Whistling...) :-S Yeah. A truly classic photo... :-/ I will post it once I get my hard drive replaced (Thursday-Friday). It crashed on Friday night. Unfortunately, I'm on a PC where I can't download the photos. No pics were lost. I just can't pull them off the SD cards on this machine. Of course, it had to happen after I had a web page all set to go, too. (Hugging...)

Just wondering ...with all great photos everyone took in Vegas - I wonder if someone can set up an online photo album somewhere with all of us contributing the photo of our choice to the cause. We can get the rijicho/exil to set up the link so we can all access from here as well. Just an idea...while having a cup of Java...

A month after the fact, and I've finally got my Vegas pictures up. I've put up a page with pictures from the SML dinners, but there is also a link to an Imagestation album with my 100+ pictures. They may not be the best quality, but some might be interesting. Anyway, you can dig through there to see my "meet the Yokozuna" photo. (Applauding...) (Laughing...)

Thanks for sharing, Takanorappa-zeki! (Applauding...)

I'd love to see the priceless 'meet the Yokozuna' pic as well as the other 100+, alas:

Hmmmm. (Applauding...) I didn't expect that, as the album is marked public. I'll look for alternatives. YahooPhotos is a possibility. I'll get back...

Okay, it looks like the page lies. If you click the orange "View Album" button (under the "you must be signed in..." message), you can see everything. No login required, as far as I can tell. Weird. Once in, if you clikc on a specific picture, you can get to the hi-res version, too.

Works, thanks!

I actually consider the hi-res "Gaawsh!" becoming my current wallpaper. (Applauding...)

Sorry, couldn't resist adding a couple of my own...

Taikai went visibly red when the 'friendly' lady to the left whispered in his ear that she loved him.

Tochiazuma, my fave rikishi, possibly winning the 'most gormless' award.post-615-1131565011_thumb.jpg

There is almost nothing visible in that photo! (Nodding yes...)

I should have mentioned that it happened after the photo was taken. You've never seen a rikishi run away faster.

I just noticed that the Kyokai's site has a nice feature on the Vegas tour, including pictures. I don't believe it was posted before. If you look closely you may see a certain SFMer.
