I wonder if they'll stick to the plan and do Hoshoryu-Aoiyamanishiki that early.

Day 9 - Roga

And of course I see what they're doing with the Juryo visitors, but J5 vs. M14, for real? I'd never do such nonsense in Bench...

I actually wondered if they would do Kotozakura/Takayasu at all. Definitely surprised they did it on day eight, especially since they went with the two sekiwake on day eight back in May, and they didn't even bother with all of Oshoma's matchups in July when he at least had a couple wins.

Maybe they stopped bothering because somebody will win the yusho anyway.

With four different picks, things are finally starting to get interesting. Looks like predicting the Sekiwake clash was key to success today, as sole leader Oshirokita might attest.

Yes, I did assume the Sek-Sek battle for Day 9. Thought they might save Hoshoryu and the other komusubi for Day 12.

I was going the same way, but because I was wrong about it on day eight, I couldn't bring myself to do it there. Fk.

10. Roga

I'm both surprised by a full train on day 10 and the NSK squandering their first win by sticking to the book. First "outlier" is Takanosho.
