Best streak of 4? that is quite a difficult basho

This might be a record. It was frustrating to watch because of the unpredictability of the wrestlers involved

Sheer luck I won, I think.

Kiho gave me the majority of my wins and- had he not had to leave the basho- I would have continued to pick him (I'm a chisai rikishi fan, you might recognise me as the lunatic whom always picks Midorifuji in TUG:-D).
Not sure what the outcome would have been had Kiho stayed in.

As I say, sheer luck... But thanks for the congrats Wakatake(Bye,bye...)

10 players participated in this game, with the total cumulative score streak being 31, while unconfirmed may be our lowest total cumulative total for this many players. 31/10 comes out to 3.1, meaning only the three players who had 4 consecutive wins get KK. Akogyokuseki gets an additional kekka win for winning the yusho, meaning her record is 9-6.

At the end of last basho I declared Achiyama on an ozeki run, and while our score line was low this basho, he did get the jun-yusho while almost winning the yusho. Therefore, with my vested powers for this game, I am promoting Achiyama to be the 6th ozeki of the Juryo Win Streak game. Congratulations to Achiyama! And congratulations to Akogyokuseki for her 3rd yusho in the game.

No other ozeki watch or runs at this time. We sadly said goodbye to @Benihana who went intai from the game. @Koorifuu, @Fujisan, and @Sumo Spiffy were all kyujo from the game. I know that Spiffy said he wasn't coming back, but I will hold out hope for the next basho. Fujisan must compete or be banzuke-gai after September. Rocks did not compete and is removed from the banzuke.

I am hoping that we will see more people interested in the game for Aki 2023. I am considering slight tweaking again to how the game is played so that it is hopefully not as confusing, the main change I am considering is one of each alternate and tiebreaker. See you all in September!

  • Thanks 2

I'm sorry i had to go, but the game developed from being fun, to being a burden. It started with pick one guy, to picking defaults and 2 daily tiebreakers and main pick can't be default, WTF??? I play late in the evening, close before going to bed and even picking a winner for each and every bout in Seki-Toto is way less stressful than wrapping my head around the rules here. I'm absolutely OK with pre-basho shenanigans like picking TBs and stuff, but during the basho that's a hard no. That's why i'm sticking to Toto, ISP, SG and TUG for daily games. If JWS someday takes the path back to being quick'n'easy, tell me and i'm back in.

Well, you don't have to read the rules or pick all the TBs/defaults, they just improve your chances to succeed - or not. In fact, if you had just picked Daiamami, Kitanowaka or Tomokaze for the whole basho (the way Jejima does every basho), you would have won the yusho this time! ;)
