Araiso talks about what Hakuho meant to him during his time as an active rikishi, but also some opening thoughts on Takayasu too. Other than that, I can't really tell what's going on, so if someone could just give me the gist of it that'll be perfect. Also, there's Kimigayo and cannabis oil selling. Can't possibly miss that.

Here's the gist:

Opening questions:

What's the keiko schedule like at Takasago beya?

In his day when he was starting out they would train as early as 4:30am, but now that there aren't that many wrestlers at the heya they begin at 8:00.

Do you feel Takayasu has developed?

Yes. Now that he's 31 he's finally starting--too late I might add--to gain the ability to use his brain as he wrestles.

Beyond that, he talks about what a strong Yokozuna Hakuho was/is, explains that gyoji, tokoyama, and yobidashi all belong to heyas and are indispensable to rikishi, and then finally chooses an inspirational song.

No, the caption on screen is misleading, looked like it meant Araiso's tsukebito Adachi (36), who followed Araiso to the heya and wants to continue - the kids of today quit because of the big room they have to live in together: because of this, Araiso-beya has no such big room for all and plenty of individual rooms, not just for the sekitori

I see. Looks like the jokes about the Araiso Academy of Sumo are a bit more on point than we originally thought. It really is a brand new philosophy to running a heya - by sumo standards.

Of course, this would not be possible at a location in Tokyo, close to the kokugikan - let alone Akihabara, which was among the speculations at first for a future heya location

The NSK had a rijikai yesterday and acknowledged that Kisenosato took on the toshiyori name Araiso. Kyokai rules demand that he stays 1 year as heya attached oyakata before he can become independent and open a heya - and he may do so already for the Olympics. Since nearly 1 year ago he is looking for premises - somewhere between Akihabara and Asakusabashi station is seen as likely - not many sumo-beya there, but the AKB48 headquarters - it may turn out to be called AKB=Akiba-beya. http://www.hochi.co.jp/sports/sumo/20190116-OHT1T50183.html

the area  for a possible Araiso-beya - Akihabara - Asakusabashi - Ryogoku stations

I watched it when it aired. Indeed, Araiso was talking about some of the differences between his heya and traditional ones, and mentioned that his would have private rooms instead of a big shared room for lower-ranked rikishi--because of his observation that many young prospects these days quit because they aren't able to get accustomed to communal living in a big room, and he wants them to have more comfortable living quarters so they can more easily adapt to the lifestyle and thereby progress more rapidly through the ranks.

When asked, Adachi commented that he is used to living in the communal room, but he's enjoy having his own private space and time to focus on himself.

I can imagine individual rooms being a big selling point for prospective recruits. I wonder if they have en-suite bathrooms.

Now that would be Hotel Araiso.

Considering he's got the space to expand, I wonder (very much jokingly, naturally) if Araiso will branch out into offering a full sumo-themed ryokan hospitality service.

But whoa, with all the changes Araiso is making, I wouldn't be surprised if he shapes up to be the Hitachiyama of this generation's oyakata.

The video mentioned there will be enough space for tour buses to park.

It makes me wonder if the heya will become such a circus attraction that Araiso won't have time or energy to properly focus on developing sekitori.

Kisenosato will get the first citizen's honor award of his other hometown Ryugasaki-city, where he went to the school and which has the Kise museum room that is always shown lately. His parents' home is in Ushiku-city.

After more than 4 years, Kise (Araiso) at last had the award ceremony for that honor award from his 2nd hometown, yesterday at the city hall. His kyujo and recently Corona all had caused the event to get postponed. o

A quick search revealed that his many appealing qualities aren't quite enough to get him onto the list of top men women want to marry:

Might be wrong, but he doesn't seem to be into women. If that is the case, hope he will do whatever makes him happy and don't fall for the pressure that Oyakata should have an Okamisan.
