Akinomaki 41,839 Posted November 9, 2017 Rikishi from Azumazeki-beya took part in a local matsuri on the 5th in Yame and did keiko with kids. The heya has a koenkai in the city and each year takes part in the festivities. o On the same day, Genkaihou (below) and Tsuyukusa from Otake-beya trained with the kids at a shrine in Kanzaki-city. Otake-beya rikishi get invited to come there for Kyushu for over 10 years now by local ex-Daitengo o Kansei (below) and Sadanogo from Sakaigawa-beya on the 8th came with the heya's Kimigahama (Houchiyama) to a kindergarten in Iizuka. The heya stayed nearby during a jungyo in the past. o On the same day, 4 rikishi from Takanohana-beya were at a school in Tagawa, where the heya is staying for Kyushu. Akinomaki 41,839 Posted February 16, 2018 (edited) On the 14th, Aasanoyama visited his old schools in Toyama-city, Kureha primary and middle and Toyama commercial high school at Kureha primary and middle schools, all students assembled for this, at each about 600 o with sumo experience for the kids and question time: "Have you ever thought about quitting?" - "I want to quit right now" - and in earnest: "Without having done sumo, I wouldn't be this now. Before last Kyushu basho, Musashigawa-beya rikishi came to the school, and somebody remembered the visit and wanted to show photos, if there were some. In the reference room, also a calligraphy by Futabayama was found, which he had given to the school. He moved as I pushed him, but I think he was going easy on me." The Ishikawa pref. koenkai of Takenawa-oyakata made a photo panel of Tochinonada to donate to Noto-Kashima middle school in his hometown Nanao (he graduated from the predecessor school), for the recently revived dohyo. It shows him with the kesho mawashi he received in 1998 from his local newspaper. He had refused to have one made for quite a while and at last agreed to it, for the project to have this dohyo as the central sumo dojo in the city.
