"Suujo" - sumo maniac - talent, Yamane Chika, made note of the new Ozeki's power during Nagoya basho. One way to measure his condition is to check the hair on Takayasu's body. The thinner and lighter it appears, the better he will perform sumo. "The eyes are bright and he's hairy like a cute bear. But, the state of Takayasu's sumo is good when his body hair is thinning." The proof/logic? behind this is that hairs will fall out from repeated rubbing and colliding during butsugari practice. The more butsugari keiko, the better his basho results.
