inhashi 2,363 Posted December 15, 2015 (edited) Ah yes! We cannot omit Sadogatake's Kototsurugi in this thread. The former rikishi now artist/professional illustrator. http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=12024 This is a link to some of his illustrations. I enjoy looking at the ones of just day to day life like sitting around the heya, walking down the street, preparing chanko ect. giving a glimpse of human-ness to it all. Akinomaki 40,780 Posted December 24, 2015 (edited) I hadn't noticed it yet, but presently singer Masuiyama, like his father Masuiyama I, both as Mihogaseki-oyakata shisho of Kitanoumi, is a reasonably good painter as well. Both have had paintings in Nikakai exhibitions, Nikaten. At the new Kitanoumi exhibition in the sumo museum a kimono of Kitanoumi is on display, with the dragon on it painted by Masuiyama the father.on the net several sumo paintings of Masuiyama the singer son can be foundthis won't display herefrom the nikaten site (2002 exhibition)I couldn't find any information if the cover for his single "Sonna Yuko ni ..." was painted by himself (can't be embedded either) Edited December 24, 2015 by Akinomaki
