While I think it's good to have a limit on picking the same guy during a basho, where does it read in the rules ? It seems I can't pick Tochinoshin anymore, hence my question.

There is a 5-time use limit per basho for using the default rikishi. If you have already used the first default three times, the second default will kick in.

So I've been "stupid" to have Tochinoshin as my default pick #1 so it seems ?

No, you were not stupid, you were just unaware of the new rules or didn't read them. This default rule is there so no one can use his default as a loophole. And the limit is in the rules. "You can pick the same rikishi three times per basho max or pick a different rikishi for each day." Can't be clearer than that, comic san serif, no less.

But isn't it better then not to pick an obvious bandwagoner as a default so you can keep using him all basho long if you see him go for a zensho Yusho or close ? Why not make that you can't pick any rikishi more than 3x during a basho ? Would make more sense imo.

Yes it is better not to pick an obvious bandwagoner, but sometimes people are away because of life and want to play-ultimately, it's your choice.

The 3x max limit does apply to all rikishi, not just your defaults... No offense, but do you understand what the defaults are used for? They're just your backup choices in case you forget to enter a selection on a day.

Well, then that's what's not clear in the rules. At least for me. But that may be me then. (Sigh...)

And I always treated defaults just as backup choices, yes. So nothing unclear there.

(Yusho winner...)

Always a great pleasure to win a yusho in such a game, I would like to thank all the rikishi I picked throughout the days, and especially Terunofuji, for his win today. I hope I can do it to the day 15!

by the way, is there a way to access Chain Gang rankings from previous basho? the ranking section on the CG site only shows the latest one, no matter which basho I click on...

The new rules kicked in just in time, I think. Still, reaching day 11 is really awesome, considering those new rules. Congratulations, Harumataikai!!

If you click the Details check box you'll get a table that shows points gained by basho and total points going into the current basho. (I'd like the basho selection to be fixed too; it was broken for last basho too)

This is the most recent Chaingang thread so I thought I would ask who runs this game?

I entered a few games last minute due to no Internet, I got a confirmation I could not use my entry had to be default pick. Well my default won and I'm not on either winner nor loser half of the page and on the entry page says "you're outta here"

Anyone can help me?

Sorry about that. Sometimes (quite often recently) the default setting is not run automagically. Not sure why. I had to do it manually which I did now.
