Onosho and Takarafuji yesterday after 4 years again had an encouragement party by the two's Nakadomari town ozumo koenkai home in Nakadomari, the first with both together - especially Takarafuji needs encouragement now. 170-180 locals and supporters were there - the town mayor is the head of the koenkai.

Takarafuji: "I'll gambarize at the Osaka basho to return to above again" - Onosho got some laugh with: "I got 10 wins, but 2 were fusensho".

A new koenkai for Nishonoseki-beya started in Kashima, Ibaraki, after the oyakata and Onosato had done bean throwing for setsubun there at the Kashima shrine, which has deep connections to sumo: a sumo festival and the god enshrined there did strength contests (sumo) with other gods. As usual the mayor is head of the koenkai - according to the oyakata, it's the first koenkai of the heya - they have loads of companies as koenkai members already though

It's the first regional koenkai and the first as an actual institution with corporate rules etc., the first separate from the official main (web-based) koenkai

Tokihayate as definite new makuuchi (after 27 years again from Miyagi pref.) had a juryo kachikoshi celebration  party on the 6th from his koenkai and school alumni in Osaki and got some goodies. As new makuuchi he aims for kachikoshi and the gino-sho (=no confidence in getting the 10 wins necessary for the newcomer kanto-sho).

Last basho's ms yusho winner Kazenkeno had a quick juryo promotion party yesterday, together with a late celebration for founding the heya. Oshiogawa-beya exists since Feb. 2022, with Kazekeno as the first shin-deshi, but due to Corona there was no celebration party yet.

About 300 guests, the oyakata received a donation of Akita Sakihokore rice at the party.
