Morning 99 Posted June 22 People who prefer media not to be suddenly janked due to licensing issues or other reasons. And they use CD players or CD drives (or more commonly something that's intended for Blu Rays). And of course people who like seeing their CDs on shelves.
I am the Yokozuna 222 Posted June 23 As you can see that is the only option being offered in 2025 and clearly targeting a very old aged fan group. I just browsed Biccamera and, indeed, there are CD players being sold and spotted one Sony player that I used to own 25 years ago. Mind you some cost more than 1000 EUR but you get to see your collection on the shelves. But I see your point.
Morning 99 Posted June 23 There's also another distinct advantage, although not in small home grown releases like this. I can import a CD from Japan and there's no DRM. I can't buy digital copies of many releases due to region block and I'm not interested in paying for DRM-locked "rental licenses" for the stuff that's not regionlocked.

Akinomaki 41,845 Posted June 23 (edited) Looks like we have to split the discussion into Outdated Media I play Cds with my 4K Blueray player (less than 300€), but I rather archive them on the PC with an external DVD writer and player drive for less than 20€ and play the files from harddisk Edited June 23 by Akinomaki

The bonus is that I can sync the list wit my Iphone and play the songs in my auto using Apple Carplay. So, I can listen to all my "Greatest CD Hits" while driving -- heaven! Takarafuji declared that he won't quit and wants to get back to makuuchi. I can't get used to it: heya top advisor Miyagino-oyakata spoke about the heya to the about 350 koenkai members and got flowers o Isegahama-oyakata apparently wasn't there - another pic with the sekitori: o

Different kuma now, but there are many bears in the river region and the name is possibly derived from this https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/阿武隈川 Edited October 13 by Akinomaki
