Nishikigi also had an encouragement rally of his local koenkai on the 9th, with about 150 supporters in Morioka. He aims for kachikoshi in Nagoya after a 5-10 last basho and a 3-12 at komusubi.

Abi yesterday had the 1st Abi Masatora Koenkai Encouragement Rally home in Koshigaya, Saitama, with at least 100 fans: "I'm in perfect shape. I want you to have great expectations". The mayor wants to have a parade if he gets the 2nd yusho - the first was during Corona and he had none. Double digits at sekiwake - there is hope for ozeki after Aki. Isegahama-beya had an encouragement rally in Goshogawara by the local koenkai, a day before the jungyo in Tsugaru, where the heya had a training camp since the 10th, home of the oyakata and the Asahifuji junior sumo club, with former member and Goshogawara local Takerufuji in the focus.

About 400 guests. The oyakata is happy that he had 3 (makuuchi) yusho in the heya this year.

Oho had an encouragement party today in Akita city (his rice sponsors location and hometown of his grandmother), organized by the prefecture's "Support group for Taiho's grandsons", with about 90 members of the group. Last time he was there 2 years ago, when the support group gave him a kesho mawashi.

His mother and elder brother sd Naya (as tsukebito I guess, Mudoho not) were also there.

Onokatsu on the 25th had a party to celebrate makuuchi promotion at his old school Asahigaoka high, with about 100 guests. Unlike Tokihayate, he won't drop down again after one basho with his makekoshi - Tokihayate with the same 6-9 as Nishikifuji from a full 2 ranks higher, one basho earlier. Onokatsu finished with 3 wins in a row to escape the possible danger of demotion.

Tagonoura-beya today had a party to celebrate 10 years since it was established under this name - a bit odd to celebrate a forced name change and heya move. With about 450 guests, among them Hakkaku, former members Nishiiwa and Nishonoseki and mainly koenkai members and related.

Onosato has a new personal koenkai, "Ozeki Encouraging Club", the first meeting was on the 29th in Tokyo, with a celebration of ozeki promotion. The head of the NSK tamarikai is the head of this koenkai (back, right), a top promoter is the rijicho of Nobidome Clinic in Saitama (on the left). Tomokaze on the 18th had an encouragement rally home in Kawasaki with about 120 supporters, who celebrated his 9-6 last basho. He is the only rikishi with a certificate of disability 障害者手帳 who fights on the dohyo.

Tomokaze reported that he changed his shikona first name from Yuuta 勇太 (his real first name with different first kanji) to Soudai 想大,

I hope he stays in the paid ranks, at the very least for his personality and sense of humor.

NOTE: The two men on the left have pretty lame pushing technique; OTOH, the man on the extreme right looks intimidating just standing there!
