"I'm not in bad shape - From here on, I'll be preparing myself" he declared. The YDC soken is tomorrow. "Huh?? Love Hakuho's attitude. No reason to start the training if you don't feel up to it. He knows what works for him.

"Good match" said Hakuho after narrowly defeating Soukokurai in a game of the new Sumo Spirits CCG (collectible card game). It is said that the Yokozuna is experimenting with a "harite" type deck.

Kotooushuu went for degeiko to Matsugane Beya for the Nishonoseki rengo keiko today. He faced Shouhouzan and 4 other hiramaku and won all 17 bouts. " He is Kadoban for the 6th time. "It won't help to bear that in mind. Even if I won them all, it's just keiko.." he said. He took part in the Haru jungyo while recuperating from his injury. "First, I've got to get back in shape. I'm getting better slowly, while absorbing myself in keiko," he said.

Kisenosato met Kotoshougiku at said rengo keiko and overwhelmed him 15-2. he was seen being pushed back a lot but mostly managed to turn it around and win. "This degeiko thing was proposed to the Oyakata by me. After a long time,I feel my muscles have awakened.. I've got to achieve something.." he said, alluding to his biggest dream-the yusho. "I was overwhelmed score-wise, but I had some powerful losses there as well.. My tachiai really sucks.." said Kotoshougiku.

Day 2 of the rengo geiko at Sadogatake-beya today, Kise 11-5 against Giku, in the end 7 wins in a row.

Kise: "Thinking nothing and let's go all-out: only that is not enough to win, cause the opponent is thinking as well. My body is tired in a way that feels good."

Giku: "It was better than yesterday. A feeling of being satisfied was there. Also when losing, it's okay if one gets the feeling for it."

I think he meant half a laugh (HA instead of HAHA) at half the aura, sir.

Kotooushuu has had an accident and re-injured his right knee and did not participate in the Nishonoseki rengo keiko today, although he was there. Some Makushita guys crashed into him as he was outside the dohyo, hitting him on the knee. He then left the keikoba limping, but did not go to the hospital. "We immediately put some ice on it," said Sadogatake Oyakata, who did not look too concerned.

I thought it was a new technique he had been working on at leaving anime speed lines as he moves.

Kisenosato on the 5th at the Nishonzeki-ichimon rengo keiko in Oguruma-beya: 16-3 against Kotoshogiku und Kakuryu, who came for degeiko, including 11 wins in a row.
"It was good keiko. I had my mind on not losing on the first impact against opponents of different types. I did it while being conscious of the tachi-ai only."
Commentator Kitanofuji sees him as a yusho prospect. "The angle of his tachi-ai is good."
Newly hurt Kotooshu evaded moushi-ai keiko bouts.

Early banzuke publication meant he had more training bouts than usual: "I'm slowly dropping the pace, I don't rush it."
"Thinking one is prepared is not the way. It's no point if one can't win during the basho."

I'm not sure if it's the translations or what, but in all his interviews for the past three bashos, Giku sounds like a Bumpity Bump Ball of Sorrow. I get that he and his fiancee split, but I'd expect a little more mental fortitude from an ozeki.

Doesn't that require calling out the name of your attack?

That's usually just for energy attacks or actual physical attacks. Movement is usually silent or whooshing at most.
