Kintamayama 47,178 Posted January 31, 2013 (edited) I have obtained the minutes from today's Kyokai meeting. Lady with glasses and purple hair: "Order!! Order!! Furiwake: "Two hamburgers and fries!!" Everyone turns to Furiwake, at his first Kyokai meeting. Rijicho: "Kato, don't speak till you're spoken to. Go make tea for all of us.." Furiwake silently bows, sneezes, does three pumps, hits himself, and retreats with the lady. Rijicho: "We have a lot of stuff on our plate today, so let's quickly welcome Isegahama, Ounogawa and the tea-maker" Everyone nods, some mumbling can be heard, accompanied by a fart. Rijicho: "The new Toshiyori rules will be implemented in the next three years. There is a limit to how long we can drag our feet without the Minister coming down hard on us. We did what we could, but if we want to enjoy the fruits of subsidy, we must know the limits of our power and give up things here and there.." Uneasy shuffling of feet, audible murmurs of discontent. Furiwake pops his head around the wall: "Riji, how many sugar?" Rijicho: "Two spoons". Stifled laughter, stopped dead by Kokonoe's death-ray stare. Rijicho: "We had a great basho. Attendance is up, we had five sold-out days, we have eased up the ban on 'seat-loto' in the lower seats and the new Yokozuna has stepped up swimmingly", he said in Japanese. Nodding galore. Rijicho: "And now, to the serious problem. It has come to my attention that the number of participants in the (pause...pause..) beloved GTB game has dropped sharply in recent bashos. This cannot continue!! Our public enterprise position is in jeopardy unless we produce at least 100 players. I cannot emphasize this enough. Now, go out there and start recruiting players!!" Rijicho leaves in disgust, followed by Kokonoe who turns around and does a mock "I'll slit your collective throats" pantomime, sending shivers up the Oyakatas' spines. "The tea is ready, guys.." says Furiwake, walking in some time later with a tray full of teacups, one of them with two spoons sticking out, not realizing that he is talking to an empty room. "Have we decided on my danpatsu date yet?" he asks, a second before he trips on the stage and comes crashing down with all the cups. Getting up, he turns to the camera: "Oh, hello.. I'd like to invite you all to play this between bashos sumo game called GTB(Guess the Banzuke) where you have to guess the next Banzuke while I learn how to look awake during the Kyokai meetings. Rules and stuff can be found through the links below:Tiebreakers - Most total guesses, then, we check the banzuke backwards - getting the lower half right will be more important now. The most correct guesses in the last ten places will win the tiebreaker. If still tied , we go up a ranking at a time like a penalty shootout. Can you slow that prompter down a bit? My eyesight isn't what everyone says it isn't..It's up to you to check if you are on the list of entries. It's going to be your fault if you don't. No monoiis (sorry..) on this matter will be accepted. At the risk of repeating myself- no exceptions! Unless you are members of the JNRA (Japan Nearsighted Robots Association) in which case I present you with this anti-squeaking oil..For rules, standings and pictures of me with Nagatanien's owner's daughter in a compromising situation:http://www.dichne.com/Guess.htmFor the robotic entry form:http://sumodb.sumoga...b/GTBEntry.aspxFor the "new" archives:http://sumodb.sumoga...gtbarchive.aspxInterview with Me:http://huffandapuffandagrunt.botDeadline- Saturday, February 23rd, 2013 at 18:00 GMT ("Goodbye Mr. Takamisakari") Thank you and please." Asashosakari 20,223 Posted February 23, 2013 All players are constantly being monitored by our teams in black vans parked outside your homes.Wouldn't they be better used to drag unsuspecting passers-by off the street and force them to submit a GTB entry under threat of watching a Yamamotoyama bout?

Wouldn't it be more of a threat if it were to be a compilation of Tokitenku's (successful or not) henkas?. Topped up with frequent close ups of that "a bad man made me do it" expression, post bout. I have been thinking about this. It is just too complicated to explain what they should do (beyond "Sort these names in any way you want").

Thank you in advance. Ronnie, your settings must be too sensitive...much like yourself! Link is here, just in case you have the wrong one: http://www.dichne.com/Guess.htm You finished joint sixth with 63 points...and a nice haul of four Masters points! I just pipped you with 64 for joint third. I like the smell of GTB in the morning!
Yubinhaad 11,956 Posted February 25, 2013 Just one change in the Top Ten ranks this basho, with Asashosakari dropping out despite a solid 10-5 result, to be replaced by newcomer Okisuruga. Yubinhaad has managed to hang in there for one more basho despite being the only top tenner to finish make-koshi. (Wearing a paperbag...) By my counts, Feginowaka has now become GTB's leading points scorer. He and Takanorappa were tied going into this basho, but Feginowaka's better result gives him an eleven-point lead. Doitsuyama 1,259 Posted February 25, 2013 And here are the selection stats for this GTB. They show that the banzuke comitee went out of there way from M7w to M9e, pretty much negating their recent policy (I think) of smaller demotions for MK. Jokoryu, Takekaze and Sadanofuji were a few more rikishi with rare bulls-eye guesses.
kuroimori 1,634 Posted February 26, 2013 7th place is really nice, could have been even better if I only I would refrain from those last minute same-rank swaps (M8 & M11)
