Otokonoyama 2,735 Posted May 18, 2004 (edited) Before the basho, the Musashigawa guys were loudly proclaiming their stopper heya heritage (the oyakata once stopped someone's streak: Kitanoumi's? :-) ). Now, the only one's who've been stopped are the Musashigawa rikishi themselves (Shaking head...) . Take Miyabi-yabadabado. He lost again today to go 1-9. This is after having Asasekiryu in the banzai position, practically ensuring Red Dragon's loss. Practically... (Clapping wildly...) The only stopper Miyabi, makuuchi's heaviest sekitori, resembles is the one at the bottom of the bathtub. Speaking of tubs... (Neener, neener...) Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted May 18, 2004 Well, much talk and not much action. Almost every rikishi has a bad basho now and then. It could be 2 or 3 within the same heya and still be a coincedence, but at some point it gets suspicious.
Elenrian 0 Posted May 18, 2004 For Miyabiyama, he losses certainly because of his new mawashi! Indeed ( there is no logic :-) ), since Takamisakari has a new blue mawashi, he dosn't win very often... And it is the same thing for Takanonami: he changed his mawashi last january, and had to withdraw last week!!! So changing a mawashi isn't good for the Win! Zenjimoto 40 Posted May 18, 2004 Not to mention Toki, who went from his usual orange to baby blue, and promptly lost form! Gojoro also hasn't done too well since he picked that garish shock pink one... :-)
aderechelsea 125 Posted May 19, 2004 jealous of who ???
Elenrian 0 Posted May 19, 2004 Don't know... They used to have good rikishi, but these rikishi (Musoyama, Dejima, Buyuzan...) are not as strong as they were... And since Musashimaru left, they have no "top" rikishi, unlike in some others heya where the wrestlers succeed. I think they are jealous for Takasago's success! [sorry for all these gramatical mistakes]

(Clapping wildly...) ), Assanowaka (plese don't get me started on him.......) (sorry Tokimori-san for the disregarding comments on your favourite rikishi........) Sasanishiki 57 Posted May 20, 2004 I would say that Musashigawa-beya is a spent force.
Zuikakuyama 1 Posted May 20, 2004 Yes. Their only promising young star in sekitori is Kakizoe. Dont think they have anyone coming up soon from makushita.
Asashosakari 20,215 Posted May 20, 2004 Yes. Their only promising young star in sekitori is Kakizoe. Dont think they have anyone coming up soon from makushita. They do have this basho's Ms15 Tsukedashi starter, Nakano.
Ryunokaze 0 Posted May 22, 2004 (edited) A "spent force"-not so sure about that. It depends on your time-frame I suppose. Edited May 22, 2004 by Ryunokaze
Kintamayama 47,171 Posted May 22, 2004 They do have this basho's Ms15 Tsukedashi starter, Nakano. Not a very good start at that with a 3-4.. Perhaps that nagging wrist injury hasn't healed??
Phelix 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Yes. Their only promising young star in sekitori is Kakizoe. Dont think they have anyone coming up soon from makushita. Well, Kakizoe sure is a success so far... We have a saying in Sweden that goes "up as the sun, down as a pancake"... Perhaps a little bit mean but really true. Which is the next stable then? Hardly Musashigawa - I agree it
