That'll do. Thanks.

(And it will be an oh so great fun to edit the thing now. :'-( )

For the future, one way to make it a bit more edittable is to insert several tabs between the /tr's and the tr's BEFORE you paste it into the SF editor. Can't do it after the paste.

Natsu 2011 was the TET, not Haru.

My suggestion for the table space issues would be keeping a local copy on which to do the editing. Yes, that means removing the linebreaks anew every time, but it's still faster than dealing with a big blob of table code (for me anyway).

Oops. Faulty deduction on my part (no vids=TET instead of no vids=no basho).

FWIW, I have CD's containing most of the matches streamed from Nagoya 07 thru Hatsu 10. These are uneditted, fuzzy vision .asf files with no graphics to ID the matches, only yobi/gyoji calls. If anyone wants to work with them to make them publicly available, I would be happy to pack them up and snail mail them. PM me if interested in them.

Well, I am busy enough with the higher quality vids for now. I quickly checked my own peephole recordings from the Stone Age, and they are a real pain to watch, so maybe let's push this discussion a little to the future. Tagging the recordings is not such a problem, even without bout IDing, since it's anyway a routine to simply skip four minutes to the next bout, rinse, repeat.

I have now tagged Hatsu 2009 completely and updated my table further up. While uploading already the next couple of basho, I ran into my first youtube copyright scares (I'm a new active user to yt, so this really gave me the chill for a second). One Nagoya 09 day is claimed to contain third party audio content, which is quite absurd. I read that there are rogue companies making money with such claims by forcing their ads on other people's video sites. Since this is the only consequence in this case, I simply confirmed their claim and hope to live peacfully with this. Worse is that Day 2 of Kyushu 2009 was clocked as an NHK copyright infringement. I have the day in three parts and two of them were flagged as "blocked worldwide" giving me an account penalty until I removed them. Now that is a problem. I don't know how youtube's automated database matching works (if I knew, I'd be rich), but either there are parts of the vids that are matched, or the exact same videos were already up at one point and are now known as a whole to be copyright material. I might skip this day for now and try to chop up the culprit videos later to see what that helps. Does anyone know a good tool for chopping up ASFs without having to reencode them? [Edit: Found it myself - asfbinwin] Does anyone know more about YT's databank matching?

I will soonish post individual tables for the three basho that I made available. I do this to point out missing bouts or bouts that are just available as replays or recaps. Maybe people can check if they have these bouts at all or in a better version and fill out the blanks. What I also will put in the tables is a "Volunteer" column. You see, all those NHK vids feature a shitload plethora of vintage and review bouts from the past. I was scanning the vids only for the basho bouts, because they are rather simple to find. Now, if enough people jump in, we can really use the material to ID a lot of old bouts. Just post which vids you are prepared to scan so that there will be no double work. I provide the youtube code for every vid in the tables. If you need a turorial of how to include vids/tags to SumoReference, just shout!

Thoughts, Ideas?

Isn't it possible to copy and paste the tabs from somewhere else even after the paste?

I have no idea why the format of this table should be bad.

Yeah, formatting tags only show in text-only mode, in WYSIWYG they're interpreted immediately.

The Kyushu 2009 upload starts to be really annoying. Two days to go and about half of the vids have been flagged as blocked. i will start to experiment with split up files to establish if it is a dumb or a smart system. I pretty much hope that the recognition pattern is soley based on filesize, length and stuff, but if they compare -say - a set of random keyframes or audio patterns or hidden metadata, things might turn out ugly.

So far so bad. Half a day of uploads wasted thanks to this pointless blocking nonsense. This triggered my scientific instinct as noted in the post above. So I started to split atoms.

First hypothesis: It's just coredata of the big (known) files. Wrong. Splitting in two files resulted in one part being OK and the other not.

Second hypothesis: It's just the audiotrack that gets scanned. Wrong. Part B without sound gets still blocked.

Third hypothesis: It's just a single keyframe (at the end). Wrong. Parts B1 and B2 get both blocked. Bugger.

So I started to measure the depth of this: Part B11 OK, Part B12 bad, Part B13 bad. Buggerbugger.

Part B121 bad, Part B122 OK, Part B123 OK, Part B124 OK, Part B125 bad. Fuck.

So I split up part B121 (a sequence of one minute) into four 15s. parts, and behold! All of them got through, but youtube really, really thought long about the fourth sequence.

Conclusion: The bastards match multiple keyframe sequences that are (probably randomly) distributed througout the vid. Note, though, that all bad parts are in the second half of the original vid, so I will try to find out more about this observation. Also, the cpyright notices distinguish between visual and audiovisual. So this could mean that the audiostream is a factor after all.

Conclusion2: I will continue to upload the next basho and hope that no idiot drew attention on these vids before. To meddle with the blocked vids seems at the moment a task for very boring days

Edit: I see I was bein naive here after actually bothering to read about this system. For all purposes the blocked vids are lost until furher notice.

And the blocking madness continues. Hatsu 2010 is at least as bad. BTW: most of the existing video links of the (until now) two basho in question lead to either removed or private vids. Somebody drew attention, it seems.

Of course there are a few banned accounts, toyasuko comes to mind.

I also updated the overview on the previous page. What it doesn't show is that I started uploading for Haru 2010, but it's the same blocking BS. This - together with my second spring cold this year - drains my enthusiasm a little, as it is clear now that the blocked vids need to be chopped up bout by bout. That makes each such day more time consuming by factor five at least. I think I will take a break and continue with this after the Euro (while tagging Nagoya 2009 once in a while in between).

I had no idea this had happened. Shocking. Can we write to YouTube and find out who is asking for the blocking? I want to know so I can write to them directly. I am assuming it is the NSK itself, right?
