Well if you've been reading keiko reports in the leadup to Aki 2006, you might find yourself saying, "wtf, am I in Bizarro-World?"

In some ways you get a feeling that all options are on the table. In my mind Hakuho's tsunatori bid hasn't stabilized at all and I would rather bet on Miyabiyama making it back to Ozeki and Kisenosato promoted to Sekiwake. Many would disagree. And we've seen our fair share of injuries this year, so what's to stop another crucial spate of injuries in the first 4 days or so?

I hope many will participate so we can get a good feeling as to how the entire forum is leaning, and hopefully to highlight the variety of opinion and instinct that we might have. But I may be wrong. Maybe it's only me who is thrown off by this feeling of instability in the ranks. Maybe the bulk of the forum still stands behind the obvious favorites who have come to dominate the first four basho of the year.

Let's find out. Try to answer the question based on who will most likely win rather than who you want to win.

EDIT: I am very sorry for the typo on the first line. Just in case anyone is confused, the candidate here is YOKOZUNA ASASHORYU.

FURTHER EDIT: please feel free to write in your own choice if he is not on the list. I welcome all opinions :-)

MOD EDIT: Corrected the misspelling of the yokozuna.

No worries Kaiguma,my very first post on this forum in 2002 asked about Asashryus :-) chances of Yokozuna promotion and I was already a big fan of the future Yokozuna at the time.

Its gotta be a vote for Asashoryu hasn't it. (Nodding yes...)

Next bet-

Tochiazuma who will certainly be in line for the Jun-yusho I just have a feeling in my gut.

Hakuho will take out Kisenosato in the kettei-sen.

Miyabi will tie Asa at 12-3 and will get his Ozeki promo.

At least two of the Traumatic Threesome will be kyujo by day 9.

Osh will go MK on day 13 or 14.

Bart will be 7-8.

Ama and Homasho will shine.

Kokkai and Roho will slip.

Shoes and Robo will continue to slide.

Hokey Rick will be a contender.

So let's see ...

Asashoryu will win the basho, that's what I think and hope (Exclamation...) :-)

Hakuho, no new boss, not yet, I think he will only have a 10:5 this time

Chiyotaikai, good performance in the first week but then he will miss it once again (Holiday feeling...)

Kaio, great performance this time 11:4

Kotooshu, think he will do it this time, 10:5

Tochiazuma, 11:4

Miyabiyama, now or never 10:5

Kotomitsuki, yes, yes, yes, more than the usual 8:7

Kisenosato, I have no idea, would like to have him a 9:6

Kokkai, noooo, unfortunately my previous guess 4:11

Baruto, Asashoryu only played with him, stoppable... 7:8

Roho; aaah my sweety Roho, he will show everyone a fine performance and a gentle, nice Roho and he will even smile in my camera for Ossetian Yokozuna!!

Ama, his time comes once again, I will cheer him up ...

Asasekiryu on the way back to Sanyaku, 11:4

Wakanosato, isn't he still injured?

Did I mention by the way, that Kotoshogiku will have a 10:5 (Nodding yes...)

:-| Heart is okay as long as it's a solid hunch!

Ozumo is 33% heart, and sometimes much much more . . .

Sorry Fay, but I'd have to go with this one.

My heart says Kotomitsuki but my head says Takekaze.

(My head was never much use)

Wait, is this a write-in for Takekaze?

Just checking, (A yokozuna...)

Well, 47 votes is not exactly the most accurate cross-section of a given population, but it's not too bad considering the population of the entire forum is ? ? ? less than 1,000 right?

I'll put the margin if error at, oh, 23%.

Out of 15 choices, only four received no votes. Of those, one will be absent. I was surprised that people are actually voting for Kaio, Chiyotaikai, Ama, and Kokkai. Anyone remember the last time a komusubi debut yushoed, if ever?

I may have also received a write-in for Takekaze, but that was never confirmed. (Nodding yes...)

Of course with Asashoryu at 40% to Hakuho's 25%, he is still clearly the favorite.

But with no clear majority,I still feel that anything could happen this time around.

Very interesting results; I'll be sure to do it again next basho.

(I've requested that the poll be closed before the start of Makuuchi matches today, but you might have a chance to vote still if you haven't already...)
