I don't wish them to get injured or have bad health but I don't like the twins. I am always cheering for the other guy to win.

The Visa requirement sucks but that can be handled if done in advance. The traveling in groups is a no. The wife and I want to see her 93 year old mother. What group of people would be willing to travel with us to a very small town in Yamaguchi prefecture? Edit: Their is a kinship visa that would work for her. I don't know if it would work for me.

Sad to see this guy retire - Oazuma He was an adoptee of mine. I am guessing his knee was the reason for the decision to retire.

Honbasho in person sometime soon!

The wife and I had a trip scheduled for March of 2020. Of course, that never happened. We plan on trying to go again this fall but the strict tourist rules may prevent the trip. We would like to see her family but I don't think a fixed itinerary would allow that to happen. -

Are their any reports about Hoshoryu being injured in his match with Kiribayama? He appeared to be favoring a knee after the loss. -
Shodai wins his remaining matches to finish 9-6 but loses the yusho in a 10 rikishi playoff.

So the judging department holds study sessions. Apparently those don't include asking for video replay help.... -
Konishiki won 14 in a row and lost to Asahifuji twice on the last day. The second loss of course was in a playoff.

I watched a ESPN: E60 documentary on him and he couldn't even get in the ring without help. It was some of the saddest "wrestling" footage that I have ever seen. That was in 2011 and it appears another wrestler recently had helped him get off the drugs and alcohol. He was in the hospital for hip replacement surgery and had 3 heart attacks. A sad end.

Hello from MidnightAgent aka MidnightSumo
Kishinoyama replied to MidnightAgent's topic in Member Introductions
Nice to know of another Oazuma follower. He was an 'adoptee' of mine when he first joined sumo because of his height. -
Congratulations to Mitakeumi for the yusho. I hope that he will be promoted to Ozeki after this performance. I know that some people were hoping for a three way playoff but I am very happy that Terunofuji did not have to spend any more time on the Dohyo. I believe that had their been a second Yokozuna on the banzuke, Terunofuji would have withdrawn from the tournament after getting injured.

I say this even though Terunofuji is one of my favorite rikishi but I am hoping that Mitakeumi wins tomorrow. It is painfully obvious that Terunofuji's knee or knees are not good at all. A playoff match or matches won't help his knees.

Maybe it will be a blessing to have the extra time off to heal.
