Jonosuke 28 Posted July 11, 2005 (edited) One of the five new recruits starting Mae-zumo this basho is from Mongolia. Apparently his father is a Sekiwake with Mongolian sumo and a friend of Asashoryu's father. He is 183 cm tall and weighs 83 kg and since he came to Japan in May, he gained 10 kg. He is with Shikoroyama Beya and has a shikona of 青狼(Seirou) meaning Blue Wolf. Edited July 11, 2005 by Jonosuke

You can se the details here I assume this is the guy Jonosuke meant
Erkhembulgan 0 Posted July 11, 2005 Thanks Naganoyama, Amgaa was one of my favorie wrestlers. Let's see what his son inherited from him. His shikona is japanese version of his fathers name, hm... strange

His shikona is japanese version of his fathers name, hm... strange <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, not strange. At this stage the NSK page usually hasn't entered shikona for any of the new deshi. They follow later. The japanese page has "Amugaa" in Katakana which will NOT be his shikona. As reported, his shikona will be Seirō.

kotooshu_bulgaria 0 Posted July 12, 2005 Nice joke... So how is the new recruit doing in mae-zumo? BTW, how could I check the mae-zumo scores?
Mark Buckton 1 Posted August 30, 2005 this lad was personally visited (in Mongolia) by Terao who apparently promised Asashoryu he'd get a foreign chap at some point in the future. Saw him filmed during asageiko whooping some of the other boys very convincingly at their Nagoya place and also saw him (IIRC) going out at Nagoya in kesho reading 'Terao'. Was picking up Nihongo darned fast too as he stirred the chanko.
Jonosuke 28 Posted August 30, 2005 So how is the new recruit doing in mae-zumo? BTW, how could I check the mae-zumo scores? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Seiro lost to Azusayumi, a returnee in Mae-zumo but won the other three bouts. The Kyokai no longer considers Mae-zumo records to be official so they do not list them. However they are listed in Japanese Sumo magazine. Hopefully I can post them on some form soon. Babaryutaikai 1 Posted September 7, 2005 He is with Shikoroyama Beya and has a shikona of 青狼(Seirou) meaning Blue Wolf. Interesting. One of Asashoryu's brother's fighting names is "Blue Wolf". But, of course, this is not him.
