Don't be ungrateful, the other clubs always take advantage that PSG is buying to sell at higher rates.... Another big topic I really don't want to get in..... Exactly. These clubs come buy the best players and then the team gets weaker. If they had endless amounts of money those players would still be at the club. As a supporter I don't even get 1€ of the sale, so don't really care if the player is sold for 10M or 60M. Also, half of the money gets lost along the way because Mr Mendes & Friends need to get paid. Talking about dirty money, John Textor made an offer to buy Benfica and was told to f... off so he decided to go buy Lyon instead. That was a close one. Fully disagree to the second statement. Believe it or not, Bayern München became a top world club without any dirty money. Whatever they spent (e.g. 100,000,000 € for Harry Kane) they have earned before all by themselves. When Uli Hoeness took over the position as a manager in 1979 the club had some debts. It took him 4 years to discharge all debts and the numbers were always black since then. I'm really glad we have that 50+1 rule here in Germany. The rule is intended to prevent investors from taking sole decision-making power over the clubs. Ganzohnesushi

Ganzohnesushi 547 Posted July 13 Wtf is here going on during halftime? 30 minutes break just to show typical American show elements? So boring. US Americans will never find the way to the heart of football. We want to see football, not that kind of bullshit. Or is the game over and PSG has already given up? Ganzohnesushi I fully agree regarding your take on 50+1, but you may want to read this book: https://www.chbeck.de/woller-gerd-mueller/product/27786451 It is a biography of Gerd Müller by an avid Bayern fan in the first place, but the book also traces how Bayern rose to the top of the Bundesliga and Europe in the late 60s and 70s, even though they were close to bankrupt all the time. Hint: Loads of dirty money involved! ;)

Athenayama 1,195 Posted July 16 Final Standings ! As I wrote in my previous report, it was Lordshamrockyama's to lose this. Well..... he did it ! Worst score of the day he opened the door. Tobizuka accepted the invitation and with just the third best of the day jumped in. So here is the winner of the first fantasy game based on the FIFA World Club Cup. TIBOZUKA ! Congrats ! Hint: Loads of dirty money involved! ;) Hope you are aware that Woller wrote this biography a couple of years after Gerd Müller came down with Alzheimer's disease. I haven't read the book and I won't do so as most of Woller's accusations sound like cheap showmanship to me to increase the sales figures. Magnificent the story about Willi Aschenbrenner during a recitation in Augsburg. What a humiliation for Woller. Which btw has nothing to do with Gerd Müller's fascinating career. It is fact that Bayern München never had real problems with financial authorities and never were accused of FFP like so many other clubs. Would be interesting to know the view of Woller and your own, what kind of "Loads of dirty money" Bayern used compared to the clubs now ruled by some petro dollar billionaires. Woller's remarks about slush funds are so across-the-board that I can't take that seriously. Even the contract with Qatar Airways fortunately was cancelled after some serious intervention by Bayern fans. The rise of Bayern in the 60's and 70's was the combination of some fortunate circumstances. Extremely young talented players (Maier, Beckenbauer, Müller, Schwarzenbeck, Roth, in 1970 complemented by Breitner and Hoeness ) and the construction of the Olympic Stadium for the 72 Olympic Games in Munich were significant for their rise. In addition brilliant coaches (Tschik Čajkovski, Brank Zebec and Udo Lattek). Of course the team was expensive and Bayern had accumulated massive debts over the years. It was young manager Hoeness after '79 taking care for this, mainly by multiplying the merchandising and on top selling their new star Karl-Heinz Rummenigge for 10,000,000 Deutsche Mark (an absolute record for that time) to Internazionale Milan. Ganzohnesushi As I have said: Woller is an avid fan of Bayern and argues just like you (or me) when it comes to the great and undisputed financial performance of Bayern since the Honess era. It is stricly about the period before that in the 60s and 70s and of course his book does not rely on Müller's memory (in fact, he didn't interview him at all), but offers clear archival evidence that Bayern paid its young talented players with black money and systematically evaded taxes (with the approval of the Bavarian authorities). The club has never denied any of it and obviously all of that has long since exceeded the legal time limit, so no reason for excitement. As for Aschenbrenner: It was pretty funny indeed, I was there during that talk and everyone had a laugh about it later, including Aschenbrenner himself. The local paper kind of scandalized it later, but the narrative and evidence of the book clearly is not affected by the fact that Woller did not speak to one friend of Müller because he thought him dead.

Must have been a brilliant sequence: "Why weren't you talking to Willi Aschenbrenner?" "Unfortunately Mr. Aschenbrenner is dead." "Well, here I am. I'm Willi Aschenbrenner" I must admit to be a bit envious of you being there to see and watch this live. Ganzohnesushi
