Attempting to create a post to serve as a repository of links to various Sumo related channels on Youtube. I intentionally chose not to include links to channels that feature copyrighted material (everyone reading this forum knows where to go to watch sumo anyway). Please add posts with any additional Youtube channels to make this list more complete.  The list is alphabetized rather than listed in any sort of rank order.

Chris Sumo - Daily uploads filmed on location at each basho; news recaps
Inside the Dohyo - Sumo news digest
Sumo Prime Time - Hiro Morita's official channel
Sumo Stew - Documentary type videos on various topics of interest to the author
World of Sumo - Sumo news digest

Japanese
Asakayama Beya - Official channel
Gaga's Channel - ex-Gagamaru's channel
Japan Sumo Association Official Channel - NSK's official channel featuring interviews, practices, and more; mostly Japanese but occasional English subtitles
Japan Sumo Federation - Official channel for Japanese amateur sumo
Konishiki's World - Mostly Japanese with some English; random assortment of videos covering sumo, cooking, entertainment, etc.
Minato Beya - Official channel

Some Japanese channels I regularly check/download completely, with what I usually post as spectator videos of recent events

Lotusmeister user/lotusmesiter

MyJetSetLife (super HQ videos), she seldom misses an important extra event user/MyJetSetLife

Tokyo Crusader user/crusader19750310

Shide Kou user/shinzx

 

lost quality a bit recently, a Hattorizakura fan channel that e.g. used to post maezumo in the past: user/mexicansportsindian

Only half of it about sumo, but good quality: Tokyo Channel channel/UCc6tAGDP8hszbUeVrtubE3A - only contents till June 2022, since then it's on its sumo channel (below)

I have dozens of other channels on my list, also lower quality, amateur sumo, older channels no longer in use etc.

The Creative House channel of the share house above Oshiogawa-beya basically only posts videos from the heya https://www.youtube.com/@CreativeHouse-Ch/videos

Their homepage is also full with articles about the heya https://www.creativehouse.jp/information and links to it https://oshiogawa.com/

A couple of channels to add here

The former Sentoryū has recently started uploading some of his old bouts, recorded from a camera pointed at a TV - the old school way https://www.youtube.com/@sentoryuhenry8zk8hf7h

A couple of months ago Futagoyama-beya started a channel mostly involving them cooking meals, showing off heya life etc  https://www.youtube.com/@futagoyama-sumofood

Don’t know how to add hyperlinks but going through my subscriptions:

SarahLikesSumo has some fun videos and early sumo bouts for famous rikishi, and daily lower division highlights during basho;

AllGoodSumo has various ads with rikishi, highlight bouts and videos on various subjects; 

Dinosaurio Jurasico has highlights and entire Makuuchi programs from older tournaments;

Dosukoi has old basho highlights and entire Makuuchi programs that were on Eurosport, who aren’t as litigious as other broadcasters;

Dosukoi, le site du sumo has various sumo ads, quick bites of various subjects;

Pro Sumo International has basho recaps for recent tournaments;

Raged Monkey has NHK highlights from basho in the 2010s (not sure if this should be excluded);

Saito (you have to include ‘sumo’ in the search or you won’t find the channel) has the same so maybe also should be excluded;

Sumo Highlights Collection the same;

Sumo Time has various videos of rikishi and world sumo coverage;

SumoParis has a series of videos covering every kinboshi in each televised era, among other interesting videos on historic rikishi;

yskohyama has old highlights - again not sure if this should be here;

Japan Sumo Channel is Japanese but has lots of interesting videos on there;

Kanji-CH [sumo-channel] has a bunch of amateur sumo coverage;

Sumo samurai Hattorihanza has a variety of short videos taken by the channel owner at basho they attended.

Now there’s a bunch of channels in Japanese that I can’t translate at the moment - I will find time after Christmas to do so for everyone able to bung on auto-translate if they need/care to, or hold their phone up to the TV with google translate on it.

Sorry. The automatic emails sent to the mods aren't as reliable as they used to be recently. I didn't notice your submission until Akinomaki replied.

Channels with 4k contents (and good videos)

  • whole events (20GB or more for a video): a basho day, danpatsushiki (Kakuryu) - big fan of Asanoyama (koenkai member) - and of the fairy of old. Quite active recently - 6 days of the basho: 1, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15 https://www.youtube.com/@alpspapa/videos

The first proper video is planned for July 7th

They posted a Tamanoi-beya room tour, a Japanese and an English version - but only for the explanation, no subtitles for the talk of the rikishi. The Japanese version can be downloaded as Premium for free with yt-dlp (option: -f 616+140)
